Star Wars is dominating the headlines right now, but Marvel mutant Deadpool’s big-screen solo debut is still right around the corner and inching closer every day.

As part of its “12 Days of Deadpool” marketing campaign that will culminate with a new Deadpool trailer premiering on Christmas Day (December 25), 20th Century Fox has released a page from the script of the film, complete with notes from the mouthy mercenary himself.

Filled with scrawled jokes, obscene edits, and at least one drawing of a taco, the script page that debuted on movie blog JoBlo today is vintage Deadpool, complete with commentary that addresses both the film’s development and star Ryan Reynolds’ original on-screen debut as Wade Wilson in the much-maligned X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

“Tim, when are you going to admit that you leaked the test footage,” writes Deadpool in a note referencing the July 2014 clip directed by Tim Miller that was “leaked” online showcasing the intended tone of the film and featuring Reynolds’ providing a voiceover and motion-capture performance as the title character.

Directed by Miller from a script penned by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, Deadpool casts Reynolds as former Special Forces operative Wade Wilson, who agrees to undergo a mysterious treatment that — in addition to giving him superhuman powers — will cure the terminal illness that’s expected to cut his life short any day now. The experiment goes awry, however, and Deadpool embarks on a mission to get revenge on the government agent who ruined his life.

Along with Reynolds, the film stars Brianna Hildebrand as the mutant Negasonic Teenage Warhead, actor/comedian T.J. Miller as Weasel, fighter-turned-actress Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Morena Baccarin as Copycat, and Ed Skrein as Ajax. X-Men mutant Colossus will also appear in the film, but he won’t be played by X-Men franchise actor Daniel Cudmore.

Deadpool is scheduled to hit theaters Feb. 12, 2016.

Nicholas Galitzine and Anne Hathaway in The Idea of You.

Amazon Prime Video is starting off strong in May with several new additions to its library of movies, including the premiere of the original romantic drama The Idea of You. Last year's underrated Christmas drama The Holdovers is also now streaming on Prime Video. And as far as we're concerned, a good drama is never out of season.

Prime Video lost a handful of movies at the end of April, and Paul Thomas Anderson's Licorice Pizza is only sticking around through the end of the weekend. But everything else on our list of the best movies on Amazon Prime Video right now is still available. Just keep reading, and you can make plans to watch any of the films that you want to see this month.

The 50 best movies on Netflix right now (May 2024)
Jenna Ortega in Miller's Girl.

It should come as no surprise that this year's hit rom-com Anyone But You has a stranglehold on the top slot of the list of the most popular movies on Netflix. But it is somewhat surprising to see Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver completely disappear from the list. That's going to make Rebel Moon – Part Three very unlikely to happen, and it may even discourage Netflix from committing extremely high budgets to its original sci-fi movies.

More tellingly, two of this week's new additions are modestly budget dramas: Miller's Girl and The Judge. The former features Wednesday's Jenna Ortega, while the latter has great lead performances by Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall. So it's not a mystery as to why both of those films are two of the top performers of the week.
