Anker Nebula Soundbar Fire TV Edition packs 4K, HDR, and Alexa in a $230 speaker
anker nebula soundbar fire tv pre order

Electronics manufacturers are beginning to see soundbars as the next category of device that should come with built-in smarts. The latest brand to pursue this strategy is Anker, which has just started taking pre-orders for its $230 Nebula Soundbar -- Fire TV Edition, a soundbar that delivers 100 watts of power while enabling any HDMI-equipped TV with Amazon's Fire TV streaming media software and its Alexa voice assistant.

On the video side of things, the Nebula Sounbdar impresses, with 4K resolution at up to 60 frames per second, and every major flavor of HDR including HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. In fact, this may just be the first soundbar you can buy with Dolby Vision built-in. Around the back of the soundbar, you'll find a good array of connection ports including an auxiliary-in, USB, HDMI-ARC, and optical input.

Pixel 4’s Live Caption feature will come to the Pixel 3 line by year’s end
pixel 4 front and back design

If you’re deaf, hard of hearing, or simply in a situation where you can’t listen to audio, Google’s Live Caption offers a way to enjoy your content without needing sound, providing captions for videos, audio messages, and anything besides calls and video chats. Google announced Live Caption’s official availability exclusively with the Pixel 4 during its official launch on Tuesday, October 15. The company is now committing to adding the Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, and Pixel 3a XL to the list of compatible devices by the end of 2019.

There’s yet to be any word on if or when this feature will come to other Android devices, though it is featured as an addition in Android 10. Unfortunately, it appears that Pixel models older than the Pixel 3 will be left out -- a curious omission considering the apparent ability of the Pixel 3a’s hardware to process live captions without issue. It would certainly stand to reason that a Pixel 2 could do the same.

PlayStation 4 cross-play exits beta stage, finally available for developers
playstation 5 pro launch with base 4

Sony has moved PlayStation 4 cross-play out of beta stage, which means that the feature is now available for developers to use in their games.

PlayStation 4 gamers have long clamored for wider availability of the cross-play feature, which included games such as Fortnite and Rocket League in its beta phase. There was even a time when players thought that the console would never get the feature, as Sony intentionally disabled cross-platform play so as not to lose out on sales.
