Walmart may just have the best Chromebook deal this Cyber Monday. It has discounted Asus’ excellent Chromebook C425 by 40% bringing it down to $279 from its $449 street price. The deal seems to a Walmart-exclusive so far and is not available on any other retailer.

The Asus Chromebook C425 is for anyone who’s looking for a run-in-the-mill notebook without a touchscreen or any convertible tricks. It offers a 14-inch 1080p display that goes nearly edge-to-edge except for at the bottom. The model Walmart is selling for $279 runs on an Intel Core M3 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of onboard storage.

On top of that, the Chromebook C425 has an all-aluminum exterior and a lightweight build weighing about 2.9 pounds (The MacBook Air measures 2.75 pounds). It also features Asus’ clever hinge design that lifts the display ever so slightly for a more comfortable typing experience. Speaking of which, it houses a backlit chiclet keyboard and a fairly wide touchpad for a Chromebook.

The Asus Chromebook C425 comes with plenty of ports as well. There are two USB Type-C 3.1 slots, a single USB-A, a standard headphone jack, and a microSD card slot for expanding the storage. Apart from that, it has a 720p webcam and the latest Bluetooth 5.0. On a single charge, the C425’s built-in 48 Wh battery is rated to last up to 12 hours.

For $170 less, the Asus Chromebook C425 is a steal if you’re in search of a traditional notebook. Unfortunately, there is only one color option at this price as the C425’s other, higher-end variants are not on sale yet. That may change soon though, so keep an eye on our deals section. Alternatively, you can check out Asus’ Chromebook C433 which offers a two-in-one design with a touchscreen and is currently selling for $160 less on Best Buy.

In case none of these match your requirements, there is a big selection of more laptop Cyber Monday deals you can browse. Amazon has up to 40% off on Chromebooks and similarly, Best Buy’s Cyber Monday Chromebook deals start at $119. Other than laptops, you will find deep discounts on headphones, phones, and smart home appliances in this year’s Cyber Monday sales.

However, if for any reason you miss this Chromebook sale, there are always Black Friday Amazon deals to look forward to.

Windows 11 is getting a new Screen Tint mode, and your eyes might thank Microsoft
Users can apply custom color overlays to reduce screen intensity and visual fatigue.
Windows 11 on a laptop

Microsoft is testing a new accessibility feature for Windows 11 called Screen Tint, and it could be one of those small additions that make a surprisingly big difference. Instead of changing your display's color temperature like Night Light, Screen Tint applies a customizable color overlay across the entire screen, making bright displays easier on the eyes during long work or gaming sessions.

Apple’s looking at a politically radioactive fix for the memory crisis, and the US government isn’t happy about it
Apple blamed memory costs for your price hike. Its proposed solution involves a Pentagon blacklist.
Apple Mac Mini on a Desk

A few days ago, Apple announced an ugly mid-cycle price hike, blaming the worsening-by-the-day memory crisis. According to the Financial Times, the company is now lobbying the government for approval to buy memory chips from a Chinese company.

The company in question is CXMT, a Chinese chipmaker that the Pentagon added to its Chinese Military Company blacklist for alleged ties to the Chinese army.

As iPads get pricier, Motorola’s Pad 70 Pro arrives as a solid option… just not for US buyers yet
Great specs, a stylus in the box, and no US launch date: the Moto Pad 70 Pro sounds both impressive and disappointing.
Computer, Electronics, Laptop

If you don’t know about Apple’s recent price hike, which affected all the products in its lineup except the iPhone and Apple Watch (for now), you’ve got to be living under some sort of a rock. The revision made all the iPads much more expensive.

Motorola, however, has just launched a 13-inch tablet that actually sounds good on paper. It’s called the Moto Pad 70 Pro, and it costs around $440 for the baseline model. The catch, however, is that the device isn’t available in the US yet.
