16-inch MacBook Pro gets a $250 price cut at Amazon for Black Friday

16 inch MacBook Pro deal from Amazon for Black Friday 2020
Amazon/Apple Inc.

We’re less than a day away now from Black Friday, but online retailers like Amazon have already hit the ground running with their Black Friday deals. The Amazon Black Friday deals in particular have been especially good so far, and that includes their current Black Friday laptop deals and their Black Friday MacBook deals. And a fantastic example of the latter, is one of the retailer’s best discounts on MacBook: a 16-inch MacBook Pro with a $250 price cut.

A $250 discount on a new 16-inch MacBook Pro is nothing to sneeze at. Especially when you consider that the discount knocks a hefty price tag of $2,399 down to something a bit more manageable at $2,149. And all for a high-end MacBook Pro.

And this specific MacBook Pro is definitely worth considering as it features a 16-inch Retina display with 500 nits of brightness, a powerful six-core ninth-generation Intel Core i7 processor, a roomy 512GB SSD, and 16GB of RAM. Not to mention it also boasts Apple’s Touch ID and Touch Bar, a six-speaker sound system, and the Magic Keyboard. And with up to 11 hours of battery life, this really is a laptop that can do it all, allowing you to work and play hard. Digital Trends reviewed the MacBook Pro 16-inch in January 2020, and we called it “the best Mac in years.” Why? Well, we especially loved the introduction of the Magic Keyboard which we considered a vast improvement over the 2015 model since it now has “larger keycaps and a snappier mechanism.” We also felt that the overall performance was “excellent” for content creation and that the 16-inch display was “gorgeous” and liked its thinner bezel. There were only two drawbacks. We still felt that the Touch Bar seemed pretty useless and that the size can be a problem for those who require portability from their laptops as the 16-inch size won’t provide that.

But if the 16-inch MacBook Pro isn’t quite your style, it’s important to remember that you still have other, great and comparable options this Black Friday. Take for instance, this other deal from Amazon, a 13-inch MacBook Pro with a $230 price cut. This is a great option for those who still want a MacBook Pro, but also want portability and a price that’s easier on their wallet. For $1,769, you’ll get a 13-inch MacBook Pro that comes with 1TB of SSD storage, 16GB of RAM, a quad-core tenth-generation Intel Core i5 processor, the Magic Keyboard, a Retina display, Touch Bar and Touch ID, and up to 10 hours of battery life.

Hurry! The M4 MacBook Pro just got an unheard of discount
Someone using a MacBook Pro at a desk.

The 2024 MacBook Pro with M4 chip hasn't even been out for a month, but it already has its first major discount. Amazon just knocked $200 off the 14-inch configuration, dropping the price to $1,399 from $1,599. While a $200 discount on a MacBook isn't world-shattering, the fact that this laptop is so new makes this an unheard of deal. Let's dive into some other noteworthy aspects of this sale.

Why you should buy the MacBook Pro M4
This specific configuration of the M4 Pro has a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. The 16GB of RAM is particularly noteworthy, as it's the new standard for Apple. That makes this a better deal than some of the M3 models with 8GB of RAM. This model of course comes with Apple's signature Liquid Retina XDR display on its 14.2-inch screen, and it's ready for Apple Intelligence.
