Telltale’s blockbuster episodic adventure series The Walking Dead (seasons one and two) and The Wolf Among Us (season one) are coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October and November, respectively. The same announcements also revealed that both series would be coming to PS3, PS Vita, and Xbox 360 in retail form.

The Walking Dead adapts the world of Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore’s hit comic book series (which also inspired an extremely popular AMC television show) about the zombie apocalypse into an episodic adventure where the tough decisions and their tougher consequences are left in your hands. Telltale’s breakout series breathed new life into the neglected adventure genre and opened up fresh possibilities for storytelling in video games.

The Wolf Among Us followed The Walking Dead‘s success by adapting another modern classic comic, Bill Willingham’s Fables. The series chronicles the struggles of characters from fairy tales and folklore who have been forced out of their home to establish a new community in modern day New York City.

If you haven’t played Telltale’s episodic games, then this will be a great chance to catch up with some of the best storytelling in recent gaming.

Among Us VR: release date, trailers, gameplay, and more
A red crewmate in Among Us VR.

We've called an emergency meeting, not because a body's been found, but because a brand new way to trick and deceive your friends is on the way. Among Us was a sleeper hit that didn't actually hit mainstream success until years after its initial launch. Thanks to some high-profile streamers picking it up, this simple social deduction game got so big so fast that the developers canceled their work on the sequel to add more support to the base game.

While not a sequel, there will be a new way to experience the tension of knowing one of your crew mates is an imposter with Among Us VR. As the name suggests, this brings the 2D game not just into the third dimension but virtual reality as well. That is a major shift in perspective and immediately spices up the game's flow. If you're curious about what else may be changed and what details there are about how it will all work, we've sussed out all the information you need to know about Among Us VR.

Resident Evil 4 remake is coming to PS4, but seemingly not Xbox One
Resident Evil 4 remake promo art with title and Leon Kennedy.

During Capcom's Tokyo Game Show presentation, the company gave us another look at Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition and announced a new platform for Resident Evil 4's remake. Capcom confirmed that the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake is coming to PlayStation 4.

The game was revealed at a PlayStation State of Play presentation earlier this year, but was only confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Interestingly, Capcom noted that the game was coming to PS4 but did not mention Microsoft's last-gen system, the Xbox One. We reached out to Capcom and asked about a potential Xbox One version, but a Capcom representative told Digital Trends that "Capcom hasn’t made any other statements about platforms for RE4."

The Walking Dead’s latest VR chapter proves I would die in a zombie apocalypse
The player chainsaws a zombie in The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners Chapter 2: Retribution.

When I entered Skydance Interactive’s press room at Gamescom, the developers on staff asked how familiar I was with VR games. I apparently claimed that while I’d never played The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, I would have no trouble picking up Chapter 2. I say “apparently” because I soon swallowed those words faster than a zombie chowing down on some delicious brains.

It’s not The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapter 2: Retribution that’s to blame for my incompetence. On the contrary, the latest installment of the shooter is an expertly designed VR game filled with some of the most complex interactions I’ve ever experienced in the medium. Instead, my own hubris was my downfall, as I thought I was experienced enough to rush into combat with no plan. If my demo taught me anything, it’s that I wouldn’t last two minutes in a real zombie apocalypse.
