Computer game publisher NCsoft today announced that the stand-alone sequel to their popular massively multi-player online PC game City of Heroes had gone live. Called City of Villains, this game is available for $49.99 and developed by Cryptic Studios.
City of Villains, NCsoft said, was developed to fit the needs of those who have always wanted to play the bad guy who foils the superhero’s Boy Scout antics. New features include the ability to create evil super villain lairs, villainous missions such as heists, abductions and infiltrations and player versus player zones where villains can battle hero players in the City of Heroes game.
“Though City of Villains is packed with new features, another key difference is in how you approach your character,” said Jack Emmert, creative director at Cryptic Studios and lead designer for City of Heroes and City of Villains, in a statement. “Players are going to have to be more aggressive and uncompromising. They will quickly learn that survival is the name of the game, because as a villain you are going to be the target of other villains, lawful authorities, rival gangs and super powered-heroes. So the badder you are, the better you’ll be.”
