You’ll have to imagine how fun the new OnePlus Nord 2 x Pac-Man phone looks

OnePlus is up to its old promotional tricks again. It has announced a collaboration between it and the ever-popular Pac-Man video game franchise, resulting in the OnePlus Nord 2 x Pac-Man Edition smartphone. OnePlus’ marketing department is building anticipation in a frustrating way by telling us how we can win one of the new phones and promising early access codes to the online store if we’re unsuccessful, but not actually showing us the phone at all yet.

It has shared some details about the phone though, giving us a hint of what to expect. It describes the special edition OnePlus Nord 2 as having a dual-layer design rear panel, with glow-in-the-dark ink on the lowest layer showing the classic Pac-Man maze. Sounds fun, but as we’ve said, you’ll just have to imagine it for now.

While a special design is to be expected, the software on the OnePlus Nord 2 x Pac-Man has been given a more unusual twist. OnePlus says it has enhanced the experience with challenges, mini-games, and hidden content that has to be unlocked to enjoy. Exactly how this will look or operate isn’t known yet. OnePlus is treading a fine line here, as most of us want an easy-to-use phone that does what we want quickly. We hope any gamification doesn’t slow things down.

OnePlus has not announced the release date for the Nord 2 x Pac-Man yet, but has said it will only be available in Europe and India, with no U.S. release date mentioned at all. This isn’t the first time it has restricted sales of its special edition devices, with previous Star Wars models only being sold in certain regions. The Nord 2 x Pac-Man will only be available with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space, and cost 499 British pounds, which is around $672, or 529 euros.

You can try and win one of the OnePlus Nord 2 x Pac-Man phones by posting a high score on OnePlus’s special online Pac-Man game, which runs from November 8 to November 10. From November 12 to November 15, players will win the chance to buy the new phone and receive a pair of OnePlus Buds Z if they are successful. You’ll just have to imagine the rest for now.

Does the OnePlus 11 have wireless charging? What you need to know
OnePlus 11 with charging block and cable.

OnePlus phones usually have very fast wired charging, but does the OnePlus 11 also have wireless charging? It’s a common feature on most smartphones today and one that can add a great deal of convenience during the daily use of a device.

Your phone is running low on battery, you need to charge it, but you don't want to fiddle with pesky cables. If your device supports wireless charging, you don't need to! Just plop it down on a charging stand or pad, and the battery fills up without you ever needing to touch a wire. It's a huge convenience on the best phones in 2023 — but is this true of the OnePlus 11?

OnePlus wants to tempt you back to Android tablets with the OnePlus Pad
The back of the OnePlus Pad tablet.

OnePlus has made an iPad Pro-bothering tablet called the OnePlus Pad, an 11.6-inch monster that expands the brand’s product line beyond its core phones and earbuds, joining other peripheral devices like the OnePlus Watch and OnePlus TV. It’s OnePlus’s first foray into the world of Android tablets, and it’s not taking the commitment lightly — providing plenty of tech to tempt you away from the Apple iPad Pro or Samsung Galaxy Tab S8.

The 11.6-inch screen has an unusual 7:5 aspect ratio (most iPad tablets have a 4:3 aspect ratio, for example), and an impressive 144Hz refresh rate, plus Dolby Vision certification. It’s compatible with OnePlus’s Stylo stylus (which comes in the box) and attaches to a keyboard or protective case accessory using magnets. The early press details state the keyboard comes with the OnePlus Pad, meaning you won’t have to buy anything extra to enjoy all its abilities.

Yes, we really are completely spoiling the OnePlus 11 and Buds Pro 2 launch
The OnePlus 11 and the OnePlus Buds Pro 2.

Do you think you know all about the OnePlus 11? What about the OnePlus Buds Pro 2? It’s probably fair if you do consider yourself well-informed about them both. After all the leaks and OnePlus’s decision to launch the phone and earbuds in China during CES 2023, there’s a good chance you feel pretty clued up on the next big things from OnePlus.

While you may have had a glance at them already, and know the new phone will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, plus have seen the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 will have Spatial Audio support, have you had a really good close look at the products? No, probably not. But we have, and in the interests of making the launch event almost entirely superfluous, we’re going to show both products off more right now.
