Here’s the first trailer for Bill Murray’s holiday special, A Very Murray Christmas

Back in May, we got our first, ever-so-brief look at A Very Murray Christmas, Bill Murray’s upcoming holiday special that will debut exclusively on Netflix in December. Christmas is arriving a little early, though, as Netflix just released the first full trailer for the special.

While it’s only a 30-second preview of A Very Murray Christmas, the trailer provides a nice look at some of the many, many familiar faces that are going to appear in the special — as well as the obligatory, very special guests.

Written by Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation), Murray (Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day), and Mitch Glazer (Scrooged), A Very Murray Christmas is directed by Coppola. The special draws inspiration from the classic holiday variety shows of the past, and follows a very worried Murray as he contends with a snowstorm that endangers his holiday television show, only to have his celebrity pals come through in the end and — we’re just guessing here — teach him a valuable lesson about what’s so special about the holiday season.

For anyone who misses those classic holiday shows — or just can’t get enough of Murray — the special should be a real treat.

The preview offers a brief list of some of the celebrities appearing in the special, and the so far the list includes George Clooney, Paul Shaffer, Amy Poehler, Julie White, Dimitri Dimitrov, Michael Cera, Chris Rock, David Johansen, Maya Rudolph, Jason Schwartzman, Jenny Lewis, Phoenix, Frederic Moulin, Rashida Jones, and Miley Cyrus, among what’s likely to be many, many more well-known actors, musicians, and entertainers.

A Very Murray Christmas premieres December 4 on Netflix and is expected to be jam-packed with songs, comedy, skits, and yes, lots and lots of Bill Murray — which is a pretty great gift in itself.
