Passive aggression abounds in hilarious first clip from Kimmy Schmidt Season 2

It’s alive, dammit! It’s a miracle!

The sophomore season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is around the corner and — after teasing us with a cheesy music video, a high-fashion-style promo, and an official trailer — Netflix has released the first actual footage of Season 2.

It comes in the form of a 40-second clip that features Jacqueline (Jane Krakowski) meeting “former fellow-housewife,” Deidre (Anna Camp), as the two have an exchange that would make the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County swoon.

Glasses of wine in hand, they chat away on a public bench at the edge of Central Park (blatantly violating Section 10-125 of New York City’s criminal code, which prohibits consuming alcohol on the street). But these are classy, upper-crust ladies, the type that can get away with such indiscretions.

Complete with backhanded compliments, passive aggression, and plenty of forced laughter, their falseness-fest centers around Jacqueline’s designer Birkin bag, which is made entirely out of famous Internet cats. Unfortunately, Deidre informs her that it is — Gasp! — last year’s model. Jacqueline then wonders aloud whether Deidre is trying to help her or destroy her and the two share an uncomfortable embrace before the clip cuts out.

While it would have been nice to see something featuring the titular and unbreakable heroine, this clip features the same sort of random, off-beat, rapid-fire humor that we’ve come to associate with co-creator Tina Fey. 30 Rock fans: If you’ve yet to give this show a shot, you might want to clear some time in your binge-watching calendar.

Season 2 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt premieres April 15, 2016. The series also stars Ellie Kemper as Kimmy Schmidt, Tituss Burgess as Titus Andromedon, Carol Kane as Lillian Kaushtupper, and Lauren Adams as Gretchen Chalker.

I found a free universal TV remote app for iOS and Android that doesn’t spam ads
AnyRemote turns your phone into a TV remote without forcing a login or subscriptions
AnyRemote Universal remote app on iPhone 17 Pro Max

I have been looking for a universal TV remote app that just works without being annoying. Most of the ones I tried had some kind of catch. Some asked me to create an account before I could even connect to a TV. Some showed annoying un-skippable ads before a simple action. A few locked basic controls like volume behind a paywall, while others simply did not work as advertised.

In that search, I recently came across AnyRemote, a free universal TV remote app available on both iOS and Android. It turns your phone into a remote for your TV or streaming device without forcing a login or making you pay for the core buttons.

Spotify has removed more than half a million streams from Malcolm Todd’s song “Earrings” after finding suspected bot activity, according to a report by Financial Times.

The track, first released in 2024, suddenly rose to No. 1 on Spotify’s daily U.S. chart after a sharp jump in streams. At the same time, traders on prediction market Kalshi had been betting on whether Todd would land a No. 1 song on Spotify USA before the end of June. There is no suggestion Todd or his team were involved in any attempt to boost the song’s numbers. Kalshi has said it is investigating the matter.
