HP reportedly set to release its Android and Windows tablets sometime this year

Is HP prepping two tablets for release sometime this year? According to Liliputing, it sure is, as the outlet spotted both the HP Pro Slate 10 EE G1 and HP Pro Tablet 10 EE G1.

Originally discovered by Notebook Italia, both tablets are powered by an Intel quad-core Bay Trail Atom Z3735F processor. Accompanying the processor package is 2GB of RAM, as well as 32GB of internal storage. Both the Pro Slate and Pro Tablet come with 10.1-inch displays, as well as 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC.

What differentiates the tablets from each other is the operating system each of them runs. The Pro Slate sticks with Android, while the Pro Tablet opts for Windows 8.1. The “Pro” moniker on the tablets mean they will each come with a stylus, but since there’s no active digitizer, expect the styli to behave the same way as your finger would when interacting with the screen.

Reportedly, the Pro Slate and Pro Tablet will launch with different variations, starting at 345 and 354 Euros, respectively. The cheapest Pro Tablet model will run Windows 8.1 with Bing, with the only difference between it and Windows 8.1 proper is Bing is set as the default search engine for Internet Explorer. The cheapest Pro Tablet model will also, reportedly, not include a stylus.

Since Web portals for both tablets are currently active, with documentation for the Pro Tablet available for anyone’s eyes, we should expect some kind of launch sometime this year, though HP has yet to officially announce either device.
