There were three big mysteries surrounding the holiday smartphone market: the iPhone 4S, the first Nokia Windows Phone(s), and Google’s first Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone. Two days ago, we learned about the iPhone, and today we get our first glimpse at Google and Samsung’s upcoming Android 4.0 phone: the Nexus Prime…or the Droid Prime, or maybe the Galaxy Nexus. We don’t really know the name of it, but BGR has picked up some supposed specs on the phone that Samsung and Google will unveil at CTIA in San Diego this Tuesday.

  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • 9mm thin
  • 4.65-inch 1280 x 720-pixel Super AMOLED HD with curved glass
  • TI OMAP 4460 dual-core Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 32GB of built-in storage
  • 5-megapixel camera on the back, 1.3-megapixel in the front
  • 1080p HD video capture support
  • LTE/HSPA depending on carrier
  • Wi-Fi a/b/g/n
  • NFC
  • 1,750 mAh battery

If true, this could be the phone to have. The curved glass display sounds cool, but the large size and big resolution of the screen are more impressive. In addition, having 32GB of internal storage and NFC (for Google Wallet) would be very cool and if it’s a Nexus, it will definitely be a pure Android experience phone, so it won’t have a bunch of custom UI tacked on. This phone may be a Verizon exclusive in the U.S., but we don’t yet know that for sure.

The picture above should give a better look at the phone. We’ll have to wait to see what the front looks like. Below is Samsung’s Ice Cream Sandwich teaser.

This is the iPhone concept of my dreams
iPhone concept mimicking iPad Pro desgn.

It’s an odd day to be talking about iPhone design. Yesterday, Apple delivered what can be called the pinnacle of tablet aesthetics with the 2024 iPad Pro, which is even slimmer than the iPod Nano. Today, Bloomberg reports that Duncan Kerr -- a design executive from the legendary Jony Ive group and was a key figure behind the iPhone, iPad, and Mac products since 1999 -- is leaving the company.

It’s a great loss for Apple and disheartening news for iPhone enthusiasts. Apple almost seems obsessed with the design language it introduced with the iPhone 11 series. And if recent leaks are any indication, we are going back to the iPhone X days with the non-Pro iPhone 16 models later this year.

I spent five days wearing an Apple Watch clone, and now I’m angry
A person wearing the Huawei Watch Fit 3.

The Huawei Watch Fit 3 really makes me angry. Not because of the way it works or anything it does, but because of its lazy design, which makes it look like an Apple Watch.

It’s not a passing resemblance, it’s not subtle, and no one will need the similarities pointed out to get what I’m talking about. It’s a straight clone, and it’s extremely disappointing. What makes it worse is that the Huawei Watch Fit 3 is actually a very good smartwatch underneath — assuming you can get past its Apple Watch "inspiration."
