Cowboys & Aliens new trailer packs more old west action

There are too many alien invasion movies coming out this year, but at least one of them balances things out with a little western flair. A new short trailer for Cowboys & Aliens debuted during the Super Bowl last night, showing a lot more alien spaceships and a lot more horses and saloons getting blown to pieces. Check it out below.

Cowboys & Aliens is directed by Jon Favreau, best known for heading up the first two Iron Man films and Will Ferrell’s Elf, and based on a 2006 graphic novel. The famous faces you see are Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, and James Bond himself, Daniel Craig. Craig plays an alien messenger of some kind who sides with a group of cowboys after aliens come to take over the world, beginning with Arizona. Why aliens chose 1873 to take over the world, we do not know.

What we’re most excited about: seeing Harrison Ford get back in the spirit and have some fun. The film hits theaters July 29.

Best streaming deals: Sling TV, Hulu, Peacock, and more

Whether you're cutting the cord finally or looking for a new platform to watch some unique content, just know there are some excellent streaming deals out there for you. Getting right into it, Amazon Prime Video, specifically, does not have a free trial. However, Amazon Prime subscribers do get access to Prime Video with their retail subscription, and that has a free trial. There's a catch, though. If you signed up for an Amazon Prime free trial before, or have had Prime, either as a trial or paid membership, any time in the last 12 months the trial isn't available. If you haven't, and you meet the eligibility, you can sign up for a Prime free trial for up to a month.

May is a time for spring cleaning, and while that usually involves emptying out a cluttered closet, that should apply to clogged up streaming queues as well. There are too many movies to watch, and it can be a problem to figure out which one to choose for weekend viewing.

Regardless, Max does have a very good library of TV series even beyond the HBO and Max originals that get all of the attention. A lot of series tend to fly under the radar because Max gives most of its promotional campaigns to the big new shows.
