‘Unravel’ and ‘Need For Speed’ join the EA Access Vault

EA has added two new titles to the Vault section of its EA Access service. Subscribers can now play the full versions of Unravel and Need For Speed via the app, which remains exclusive to the Xbox One.

Unravel garnered plenty of praise when it released in February. The game casts players as a Yarny, a small creature made from yarn who has to venture through human-scale environments, negotiating platforming layouts and solving puzzles.

The game is likely being added to EA Access in an attempt to raise its profile ahead of a follow-up that’s currently in development. Earlier this year, developer Coldwood Interactive signed a new deal with EA that will see the firm create another game in the same universe, according to a report from PC Gamer.

Meanwhile, gamers looking for a more pulse-pounding experience will be well served by Need For Speed. The racing game is the twenty-second installment in the venerable franchise, and serves as a complete reboot that once again shifts the focus of the series to the tuner scene.

Despite releasing to lukewarm critical response, Need For Speed received plenty of post-launch support, so there’s good reason to give the game a second look if you have access to an EA Access subscription. Besides, the series won’t receive a new installment in 2016, so last year’s game is the best option if you’re desperate for EA’s brand of street racing.

An EA Access subscription costs $4.99 per month, and gives players unlimited time with games in The Vault, as well as timed trials of new releases. Subscribers can play ten hours of upcoming titles like FIFA 16 and Battlefield 1 a week ahead of their retail release, according to a report from WinBeta. Unfortunately, the service remains unavailable to PlayStation 4 owners.
