Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will be offering a Season Pass for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor that amounts to a pre-order for all downloadable content coming to the game. Details are scant at the moment, with no price or release dates listed in the announcement, but we can at least give you a general sense of what you get with your Season Pass purchase.
Shadow of Mordor add-ons include the “Guardians of the Flaming Eye” Orc Warband mission (a fight at the Black Gates of Mordor that unlocks the Rising Flame rune), early access to the “Trials of War” challenge modes, and a pair of story add-ons: Lord of the Hunt and The Bright Lord. The former sends players off to hunt the wildlife of Mordor, while the latter offers up supporting character Celebrimbor as a playable character in a battle against Sauron’s forces.
The Season Pass also includes “runes, skins, and additional future add-on content,” but there’s no detail beyond that. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor comes to PC and PlayStation/Xbox consoles on September 30, 2014.
