Jason “Jace” Alexander, a well-known TV Director best-known for his work on Law & Order has been arrested for possession and promotion of child pornography.

According to Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore, Alexander was arrested on Friday after investigators found that he had downloaded child pornography from an IP address linked to his home.

The 51 year-old resident of Dobbs Ferry, NY — who is married with three children — was charged Wednesday with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, both of which are felonies.

He was ordered to be held on $10,000 cash bail, and CBS News reports that he is due in court again on November 19. Each of the charges carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.

A director/producer/actor, Alexander is best-known for directing Law and Order from 1994 to 2005 and also helmed Rescue Me for 19 episodes from 2004-2007. As an actor, he appeared in Eight Men Out as Dickie Kerr and had a bit part as the thug that robs Alcia Silverstone at gunpoint in Clueless. He is the son of Emmy Award-winning actress Jane Alexander and his wife Maddie Corman, who is also an actress, has appeared in Swingers, Maid in Manhattan, and Mickey Blue Eyes.

Alexander has yet to be convicted and details are sparse for the time being. We’ll keep you updated as the facts emerge and his court date draws nearer.
