Amazon Key In-Garage Delivery Service expands to 4,000-plus cities

Add as a preferred source on Google

In a move that seems perfectly timed for the online holiday shopping rush, Amazon has expanded its Key by Amazon service to more than 4,000 cities. Key by Amazon In-Garage Delivery Service enables users to choose to have packages delivered securely inside their garage, rather than on their front steps. This service also includes the Key by Amazon Happiness Guarantee, which allows you to seek a refund from Amazon if the delivery is not completed to your satisfaction.

Before now, Key by Amazon was only available in 50 cities across the country. Now, people in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Seattle, Dallas, Phoenix, and many other cities can reap the benefits of more secure package delivery. If you are an eligible Amazon Prime member and Key by Amazon is available to you, you can use it completely free of charge.

The service is easy to set up and use, and if you have a garage door that can be controlled through the myQ app, all you have to do is link your garage door information to your Amazon account.

Expanding Key by Amazon wasn’t the only news the company announced this week. Amazon also launched Key In-Garage Grocery Delivery, a contactless in-garage grocery delivery service. Users can have groceries delivered from Whole Foods or Amazon Fresh straight into their garage. This not only stops the groceries from being targeted by would-be thieves, but it helps keep food safe from the elements and roving packs of squirrels.

Key In-Garage Grocery Delivery is only available in five major metropolitan areas, at least for now: Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. If you’re in an area where the service is available and you want to try it out, you can — for a limited time — receive $30 in Amazon credits after your first delivery for either groceries or standard Amazon packages.

Package theft always ticks up around the holiday season. While video doorbells and security cameras can help combat theft, the best way to prevent your deliveries from being stolen is to keep them out of sight. Amazon provides additional assurances by performing thorough background checks on all of their delivery drivers.

Top Smart Home Upgrades Worth Making Before Your Summer Break
From outdoor monitoring to smarter front-door security, these EZVIZ devices combine smart protection with daily convenience
Person, Security, Electronics

Summer often brings a welcome change of routine for homeowners across Europe. Family holidays, weekend getaways, and longer days spent outdoors mean more time away and fewer opportunities to stay connected to what's happening back at the property. While it's a season for slowing down and enjoying the warmer months, everyday responsibilities don't simply pause. Deliveries still arrive, visitors may stop by unexpectedly, and trusted family members, cleaners, or pet sitters may occasionally need access while you're away.

Modern smart home technology makes those situations easier to manage. Today's connected devices can do far more than record footage or send motion alerts. They can help homeowners monitor outdoor spaces around the clock, stay informed about important activity, communicate with visitors remotely, and manage entry without needing to be physically present. Instead of constantly checking in or wondering whether everything is running smoothly back home, the right setup can provide greater visibility, convenience, and peace of mind throughout the season.
