Rhapsody brings streaming music app to Blackberry

Rhapsody has landed on the BlackBerry in beta form. The streaming-music service has been available for iPhone and Android users for sometime, but up until now has neglected Research in Motion’s BlackBerry. Rhapsody announced that the service is now available to users of “America’s hardest-working smartphone” through an app available at Rhapsody’s website. It plans to make the app downloadable through BlackBerry’s App World soon.

BlackBerry users can try the service out with a free seven-day trial and then expect to pay $9.99 per month for unlimited streaming of Rhapsody’s library of 10.5 million songs. Currently the service is only accessible with a Wi-Fi, 3G, or EDGE connection, but the company says it plans on bringing offline capability through unlimited downloading to the BlackBerry soon.

For the time being, BlackBerry users can enjoy Rhapsody’s customizable playlists, on-demand music streaming, and customizable radio stations.
