Sprint Music Store Passes Million Downloads

Sprint today said that their cellular based music service known as the Sprint Music Store had achieved its millionth song download since going live Oct. 24 of last year. Over 320,000 songs from a variety of major publishing labels are available for download.

The Sprint Music Store, said Sprint, allows customers to browse, preview and purchase songs for download to their mobile phones. Features of the Sprint Music Store also include a cost of $2.50 per song, with a second song copy available for download to a computer and the ability to burn their music to a CD using Windows Media Player.

“The popularity of the Sprint Music Store is due largely to its ability to instantly deliver the songs people want when they want them on their Sprint phone, the one device that is likely always with them,” said Jeff Hallock, vice president, product marketing for Sprint, in a statement.

Spotify is the world's most popular music service. It offers podcasts, audiobooks, and slightly better audio quality than YouTube Music. In contrast, YouTube Music is an extension of the polished and feature-rich Google ecosystem, making it a better choice for those already using it for other purposes.

As Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 continues in Barcelona, Spain, there are whispers that Samsung could be releasing not one, but two Galaxy Z Fold 6 models. More specifically, one of them could be a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra, at least according to a report from WinFuture. If this is the case, it will be the first time that Samsung releases two Z Fold variants at the same time — and the first time we've seen an Ultra model in the Z Fold family.

For some time now, there has been a rumor that Samsung was possibly launching a second “fold” in the Galaxy Z series, which currently includes the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. However, most of the rumors up until this point have suggested that a second “Fold” model would have been a cheaper, more affordable variant. However, that may not be the case.
