State of Emergency 2 Ships

SouthPeak Interactive and video game developer DC Studios today said they’d shipped State of Emergency 2 (SOE2) for the PlayStation 2. This title, a sequel to State of Emergency, is priced at $29.99.

SOE2, said the two video game companies, takes place four years after the original SOE game and features the same in-game characters. Features of SOE2 include a single player mode with 12 missions and a cinematic story, large numbers of simultaneous on-screen characters, nine different types of enemies, multiple types of vehicles which can be controlled, arcade challenges with their own high score table and five multiplayer modes for up to four players. A PSP version will be made available this fall.

“We are pleased to deliver State of Emergency 2 and convinced that this enhanced version will prove to be a popular franchise,” said Mark Greenshields, Chief Executive Officer of DC Studios, in a statement. “We are also very confident that the game’s sequel will surpass its prequel because State of Emergency 2 introduces many new and exciting game-play elements like gang control and interrogation as well as new driving and flying vehicles.”

Helldivers 2 was on top of the world. Released in February to surprise acclaim, PlayStation and Arrowhead's co-op shooter quickly became the kind of success story that any gaming company would want to emulate.
