Sony, in an attempt to appeal its VAIO computer line to a larger audience, today introduced its first Spanish language PC in the United States. The Sony VAIO FJ en Espanol notebook, based on Sony’s VAIO FJ series, starts at around $1,400 and will be available this month.
The Sony VAIO FJ en Espanol, said Sony, is available in five different colors and includes a Spanish language operating system and keyboard. The laptop, which sports a 14.1†widescreen display, is being targeted towards the growing U.S. Hispanic population. As part of promoting this new laptop, Sony will be introducing a soccer-themed promotion which gives VAIO FJ purchasers a certificate to receive a soccer jersey personalized with their name and number of choice in the color of their favorite soccer team, matching the color of their computer.
Sony also plans future “corporate-wide initiatives and community outreach programs targeting U.S. Hispanicsâ€.
