LG has put its latest smartphone/tablet hybrid, the G Pro 2, on sale in selected countries. Launched at Mobile World Congress last month, sadly the U.S. and Europe aren’t on the list at the moment, but LG says this is the start if its global rollout, so we should be getting the new phone very soon. Where can you buy it right now? LG’s press release says Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia are the lucky ones.

We were impressed with the G Pro 2 when we tried the device out at MWC, and have since given it a four out of five star rating in our review. If for some reason the phone passed you by, here’s a reminder of what it’s all about. LG has fitted a 5.9-inch, 1080p display to the phone, and it’s powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat, has 3GB of RAM, 4G LTE connectivity, and a big 3200mAh battery.

The camera has 13-megapixels, and comes with both optical image stabilization, and a cool feature allowing you to play around with the depth of field in photos you’ve just taken. Perhaps the most interesting new software feature is KnockCode, where the traditional PIN code security system has been replaced by a series of screen taps. There are apparently more than 80,000 combinations, so it should remain secure.

When it was announced, LG couldn’t provide a final international release date for the G Pro 2, and that’s still the case. The press release confirming the Asian release states “Details regarding the availability of the G Pro 2 in specific countries will be announced locally.” So, take this as early warning. The G Pro 2 is on its way, and news looks like it will come from our friendly neighborhood network, rather than LG.

I can’t wait for Nothing to launch this stunning phone
Nothing Community Edition Project winner.

Say what you will about Nothing, but this brand certainly has a taste for flashy design. After all, how many phones out there light up and sync to the beat of music? But the company's latest smartphone endeavor could just be its best yet.

In March, Nothing introduced its Community Edition Project. The goal was to take ideas from its fans for hardware design, with the Nothing Phone 2a serving as the foundation. The company also has similar plans for wallpaper, packaging, and marketing shenanigans. Today, Nothing announced its winning entry for the phone design, and it’s a stunner.
