Dragon Age: Inquisition screens take a tour through beautiful Thedas

Dragon Age: Inquisition is BioWare’s first game built on the Frostbite 3 engine, the same foundational game development tools that breathe life in Battlefield 4. In other words, it’s real purdy and stuff. Gape in wonder at these screens. You get some dragons, some scenery, and a whole lot of armed and armored toughs. Good times.

Electronic Arts has Inquisition set to hit stores on October 7 for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as Windows PCs, and serious fans can pony up a few extra dollars for an assortment of virtual goodies packed into the Deluxe Edition. With E3 2014 quickly approaching, we should be hearing more soon about what lies beneath the gorgeous surface of BioWare’s return to the land of Thedas.

To say BioWare's Anthem has been disappointing would be an insult to every other disappointing game we've played in 2019. Anthem was a colossal failure for the studio, with mediocre reviews that questioned whether the studio could ever achieve its former glory. But BioWare is willing to try: The studio reportedly plans drastic changes to the game in an effort to save it from becoming irrelevant.

According to Kotaku, several of Anthem's biggest elements are going to be completely overhauled, either in one large update or in a series of smaller updates. These include the structure of missions, as well as the world itself and the loot. The game has been criticized for the relatively arbitrary loot scoring system, with weapons not varying enough in power compared to those found earlier in the game.

A new month is upon us, so another batch of PlayStation Plus Essential's monthly free titles is nearly upon us. On May 7, four games will be available for no additional cost to PS Plus Essential subscribers: EA Sports FC 24, Ghostrunner 2, Tunic, and Destiny 2: Lightfall.

EA Sports FC 24 is the latest soccer game to come from the EA Sports brand. Historically, this series was known as FIFA, but EA had to rebrand it after its partnership with that organization ended. Despite that, EA Sports FC 24 is still very much an iteration of FIFA 23, so if you enjoy soccer games and don't already own EA Sports FC 24, it's worth a download. Next is Ghostrunner II, a thrilling first-person action game that launched last October. It's the kind of game that makes you feel like a badass as you precisely platform and strike enemies before they can kill you in one hit.
