BioWare and GameStop partner for loot-filled Dragon Age: Inquisition – Inquisitor’s Edition

Kick off your Dragon Age in style with the Inquisitor’s Edition, a faux-reptile-skin-bound chest full of goodies revealed in a tweet from BioWare’s Aaryn Flynn. The chest is stamped in gold foil with the Inquisitor’s mark on top, lined with red silk, and includes:

A cloth, scale map of Thedas with four map markers, for plotting your inquisition’s course and then sweeping off the table in a rage, for dramatic effect
A quill, inkpot, and journal so you can make your list of heretics and check it twice
A full 72 card tarot deck with artwork depicting Dragon Age mythology, for when you need guidance
A set of lock picks, for breaking into your neighbors’ houses
An Inquisitor’s Badge, to flash at your horrified neighbors
Orlesian coins, to buy them off from calling the cops
The deluxe edition of some video game or other, and a SteelBook case to house it

Dragon Age: Inquisition Inquisitor’s Edition is now available for pre-order for $170 from GameStop.

God of War Laufey finally has a release date, and there’s some good news for Kratos fans too

Santa Monica Studio confirmed the game will launch February 16, 2027, and revealed a new mainline Kratos title is already in development.

Sony gave fans their first look at God of War Laufey during June's PlayStation State of Play, but the company did not share a release date at the time. Speculation about the launch window followed almost immediately, with industry insider NateTheHate pointing to a release in the first half of 2027. Santa Monica Studio has finally ended the guessing game, confirming that the title will launch on February 16, 2027.

Lenovo’s $99 280Hz gaming monitor is built for the ramen-budget crowd

Lenovo is selling a 280Hz monitor for less than GTA 6 Ultimate Edition

Fresh off launching a metallic Hall-effect keyboard and a 59g gaming mouse for flashy esports setups, Lenovo has turned its attention to gamers working with much tighter budgets. The Legion 24-1r looks made for broke college students who spent way too much on their first gaming rig and now have instant noodles doing most of the heavy lifting at dinner. It costs just 669 yuan, equivalent to around $99, yet offers a 23.8-inch IPS panel running at up to 280Hz.

Lenovo is also offering the 27-inch Legion 27-1r with the same core specifications for 789 yuan, or roughly $116. For the ramen-budget crowd chasing competitive frame rates, both look like seriously tempting deals. (via NotebookCheck)

I played Halo: Campaign Evolved, and its cinematics show what a Halo series could’ve been

Halo’s remake looks ready for Hollywood. So where is the show it deserves?

There is a moment early in Halo: Campaign Evolved where I stopped thinking about the remake as a game for a second. I was watching one of its newly rebuilt cutscenes. Master Chief, Captain Keyes, Cortana, the Pillar of Autumn, and the enormous scale of everything around them suddenly appeared a lot more cinematic than ever before.

I played the original Halo: Combat Evolved in the early 2000s, and in my head, this was exactly how it looked and felt. The first Halo title introduced intergalactic war to me long before Star Wars, and the cinematic tastefully adds enough minor touches that enhance Bungie's original work from decades ago.
