Verizon Droid Turbo reportedly set for October unveiling, brings fast charging with it

Motorola’s on a roll lately, as the company released the successors to the Moto X and Moto G, as well as its Android Wear-powered Moto 360. However, there are rumblings that Motorola won’t stop there. Verizon may announce another Droid smartphone next month, CNet reports.

According to “people familiar with the matter,” the Droid Turbo will be the only Droid smartphone released this year. Reportedly equipped with a 4.6-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 piexls, the Droid Turbo will allegedly be powered by a 2.65GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor that is paired with 3GB of RAM.

Also on deck is Android 4.4.4 KitKat, a 20-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, and 32GB of internal storage. While there is no information on the battery, Motorola’s Droid Landing Twitter page posted the following message:

While the small screen size with such a high resolution understandably brings this rumor into question, Verizon’s Droid line of smartphones is due for a refresh. If it happens, then the Droid Turbo might just be that refresh.
