The ultra-cheap phone runs Android 4.4, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM. Even though the Snapdragon 400 isn’t the best processor in the world, it’s not half bad and should meet your average entry-level smartphone users’ needs, much like Motorola’s Moto G. The SnapTo has a 5-inch HD screen with a 720p resolution, which is pretty much par for the course when it comes to mid-range smartphones.
As far as cameras go, there’s a 5-megapixel camera on the back of the device and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Huawei’s also popped in a 2,200mAh battery, which should last you a good while, especially given the low resolution of the screen. You’ll also be able to expand the storage via a Micro SD card slot.
Although no carrier is going to officially support the SnapTo right off the bat, the phone will work on GSM 4G LTE networks like AT&T and T-Mobile. The Huawei SnapTo is now up for preorder on Amazon for $180 in both white and black color options. It will also be available through Huawei’s website and a handful of other online retailers sometime next week.
