HP announces 32-inch UltraHD monitor and thin-bezel professional displays

HP has taken the wraps off a long list of new displays, including a highly accurate 4K monitor and thin-bezel monitors built for use in pairs or groups.

The DreamColor Z32x is the highlight of the reveal. This 31.5″, 4K display offers 10-bit color precious and comes from the factory color-calibrated for highly accurate coverage of the sRGB and AdobeRGB gamuts. There’s also an optional HP Calibration Kit available to narrow color reproduction down to exactly what you desire. The display supports HDMI, DisplayPort, mini-DisplayPort and MHL input, and like most high-end monitors it can also act as a USB hub.

Its specifications suggest the DreamColor Z32x could give Samsung’s big 4K display serious competition, but you’ll have to wait until an unspecified date this summer before you can pick the HP up.

In addition to its UltraHD model, HP is announcing a phalanx of new “borderless” displays. Like all screens making that claim the displays are not in fact borderless, but they do have bezels just a few millimeters thick. HP intends these displays to be used in pairs or groups, where the thin bezels will minimize distracting transitions between panels. Here are the models planned.

  • Z24nf, 23.8-inch, 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, $299
  • Z24nq, 23.8-inch, 2,560 x 1,440 resolution, $379
  • Z24n 24-inch, 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, $379
  • Z25n 25-inch, 2,560 x 1,440 resolution, $429
  • Z27n 27-inch, 2,560 x 1,440 resolution, $649

The Z24n, Z25n and Z27n also offer better gamut support covering up to 99% of sRGB. All of the narrow bezel displays will be available in June.

This new line-up of HP monitors is certainly a lot to take in at once, and it adds to the company’s already diverse selection, which includes several 4K displays. The DreamColor Z32n is the largest UltraHd set from HP yet, though, and could be the monitor to beat when it hits retail later this year.

Supreme power comes at a supreme cost, and for the Core i9-13900K, that comes in the form of heat and power draw. In addition, a recent wave of instability has hit Intel's high-end CPUs like the Core i9-13900K, making alternatives a bit more attractive.
