With X-Men spinoff movie Gambit expected to begin filming later this year, casting on the project is heating up. The latest report indicates that S.P.E.C.T.R.E. actress Lea Seydoux has been offered a leading role in the film opposite star Channing Tatum.

Seydoux’s potential involvement in the film was initially rumored a while back, and while the deal (as reported by Deadline) is still unconfirmed and entirely unofficial at this point, the French actress certainly seems like a good fit for the role of Gambit’s mutant paramour, Bella Donna Boudreaux.

Originally appearing in a 1992 issue of Marvel’s X-Men series, Bella Donna Boudreaux was the daughter of the leader of New Orleans’ Guild of Assassins and a childhood friend of Remy LeBeau (a.k.a. Gambit), the adopted son of the the leader of the Guild of Thieves. Remy and Bella Donna were paired up in an arranged marriage intended to unite the two rival guilds, but he eventually ran into trouble and was exiled from Louisiana. The skilled thief eventually crossed paths with the X-Men, and went on to become one of the most popular members of the mutant team in the ’90s.

A powerful mutant with powers similar to Gambit, Bella Donna has been both an ally and enemy of Gambit over the years.

Seydoux, who played a supporting role in last year’s Oscar-nominated film The Grand Budapest Hotel, will also appear in the upcoming 24th installment of the James Bond franchise, S.P.E.C.T.R.E. She’ll play a character named Madeleine Swann in the movie, and appears in some of the trailers for the film.

Directed by Rise of the Planet of the Apes filmmaker Rupert Wyatt, Gambit stars Tatum in the title role. The film is expected to begin filming in October, and is currently scheduled to hit theaters October 7, 2016.

The best Star Wars shows on Disney+
Morgan Elsbeth in Star Wars: Tales of the Empire.

When Disney+ launched in 2019, it was understood that the biggest attractions were the Star Wars and Marvel original series. Nearly five years later, the rollout of shows from those franchises has slowed down to a virtual crawl. However, heading into this year's Star Wars Day, there are actually two new shows on the horizon. But we can't guarantee anything else Star Wars-related will arrive on Disney+ in 2024.

On May 4, Disney+ is premiering the animated anthology series, Star Wars: Tales of the Empire, which follows up on some story threads from Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Ahsoka. Star Wars: The Acolyte will follow on June 4, but we don't have too many details about that series yet. Star Wars: Skeleton Crew was originally slated to arrive in 2024 as well, but since there's been no sign of that series to date, it may slip into 2025.

Like The Fall Guy? Then watch these 3 action comedies now
A man holds onto a truck in The Fall Guy.

Combining action and comedy is more treacherous than it may initially seem. While any good action movie is going to have a few comedic beats (Die Hard is a very funny action movie), the action comedy is a movie that is dressed up like an action movie, but also has to be genuinely funny from beginning to end.

The Fall Guy manages that balance very well, thanks in large part to Ryan Gosling's ability to make just about anything he does funny when he wants to. If you loved The Fall Guy and are looking for other great action comedies worth checking out, we've pulled three together that will hopefully fit the bill.
Midnight Run (1988)
