Iomega has taken the wraps of its new StorCenter ix4-200d four-drive desktop NAS device, capable of handling up to 8 TB of storage as well as providing a host of backup, file, print, and media services aimed at small offices and home businesses. The ix4-200d supports RAID configurations (RAID 5 and RAID 10 plus JBOD), and sports runs on user-replaceable SATA II hard drives—plus the system sports device-to-device replication, dual gigabit Ethernet, and iSCSI support that enables host-based operating systems to use their own native file systems—like VMFS for VMWare.

“The new StorCenter ix4-200d delivers the unquestionable advantages of EMC’s world class enterprise storage technologies to small businesses and distributed enterprises in an affordable and easy to use solution,” said the president of Iomega’s consumer and small business products division Jonathan Huberman, in a statement. “The ix4-200d is an excellent yet affordable NAS appliance that gives smaller organizations and work groups not only cost-effective powerful network storage but many of the same sophisticated data management capabilities as a Fortune 100 corporation that no competitor can match.”

The ix4-200d supports clientless device-to-device replication (so data can be copies to another NAS device on a set schedule), and supports a plethora of network protocols to support Windows, Macintosh, and Linux client systems. The ix4-200d can function as an Windows Active Directory client, and supports Apple’s Time Machine backup system built in to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard (and newer). The device also supports Bluetooth so users can upload contacts and calendar items from a remote device (we’re not sure why this is useful, either), and acts as a print service, UPnP Media Server, and file server—the device also supports Picture Transfer Protocol for grabbing images and videos directly off cameras connected to one of its four USB 2.0 ports, and can even support up to five Axis network video camera, just in case you feel like making your NAS part of an officer surveillance system

The ix4-200d ships with Retrospect Express and Iomega QuikProtect backup software and includes RSA BSafe encryption to protect upgrades and installation from malware. The device also offers an easy-to-use dashboard that lets administrators manage users, impose folder quotas, manage reporting and remote access, handle torrents, and configure unattended shutdown via a UPS in the event of a power failure.

The StorCenter ix4-200d is available now in 2, 4, and 8 TB models for $699,99, $899,99, and $1,899.99 respectively.

A bargain printer can end up costing you more overall if the cartridges are small and replacements are expensive. Follow these tips to minimize ink, toner, and paper waste, reducing the ongoing expense of using your printer in the long run.

Best refurbished laptop deals: How to find cheap used computers
microsoft surface laptop go 2020 on desk

Not only that, but most refurbished laptops tend to be refurbished by the brand and are backed by warranties and return windows, so even if something is not right with your refurbished laptop, you can get a replacement or your money back.

To that end, Best Buy, Amazon, and Dell all have really great refurbished laptop sales that you can check out, and the prices really are great. Alternatively, if you're in the Apple ecosystem, take a look at these refurbished MacBook deals, or if you still want to go for something new, you could consider checking out these laptop deals instead.
Best Buy refurbished laptops -- starting at $113
Best Buy's refurbished laptops are -- you guessed it -- Geek Squad Certified and while they may not be free and clear of absolutely all cosmetic scuffs they are still exceptionally clean and always in working order. Some of them even come with additional software like virus tools, streaming access, like Apple TV+, and much more. Of course, the best part is that you can get a premium and fully upgraded model for less, often with more storage, more power, and more features than you would when buying a base model brand new. You've got some great options from Lenovo, Acer, HP, Dell, Gateway, and even Apple to choose from. The cheapest models start around $120 and increase from there. The best way to know what's available is to head over and browse for yourself.
