When making your own carbonated beverages, why stop at colas and lemon-lime flavors? Might as well go for the ultimate malted beverage, and now, SodaStream is letting you do just that. Late on Monday, the company that turned you into a connoisseur of homemade fizzy drinks announced the release of a new Beer Bar system. Unfortunately, it’s only being offered in Germany and Switzerland, which is all the more reason to take that much-needed summer vacation.

Promising “quality home-crafted beer” made with sparkling water and “a unique beer concentrate brewed to perfection,” you’ll be able to dispense your own Blondie light beer with this at-home system. This particular beverage contains 4.5 percent alcohol by volume (higher than both Bud Light and Miller Lite), and one liter of the Blondie mix will give you around three liters of beer. Promising “a smooth authentic taste, and a hop-filled aroma,” this may just be what you need to get your summer started.

“We are excited to launch a brand dedicated to serving the global growing trend of home-crafted beer,” said SodaStream CEO Daniel Birnbaum in a statement. “Our core carbonation technology and distribution infrastructure provide a great platform for us to extend our business into this emerging category, and we choose to do so with a dedicated beer brand.”

The Israel-based company hopes to expand the Beer Bar to more markets in 2017, and perhaps start doing so even later this year. Its market move comes at a time when an increasing number of companies are seeking to enter the homegrown brewing industry. Whirlpool just announced its own version of a similar concept, so rest assured that you’ll be able to choose from many an option this summer.

While SodaStream hasn’t seen particularly strong growth in recent months, with the novelty of homemade sodas going a bit flat, shares of the company saw a boost with the announcement of the new beer varietal. After the initial announcement, SodaStream stock was up 5 percent, marking a 25-percent increase across the year.

So if you’re looking for your next favorite India pale ale, consider making your own — maybe even with a SodaStream.
