Activison will bring ‘Call of Duty’ XP fan event to Los Angeles area in September

Official Call of Duty® XP 2016 Announce Trailer
Activision will resurrect its Call of Duty fan event this fall after a five-year hiatus. Call of Duty XP will take place at The Forum in Inglewood, California, in September, giving enthusiasts the opportunity to check out what’s in store for the future of the enormously popular first-person-shooter franchise.

The event will be the first opportunity for fans to play the multiplayer modes set to be included as part of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and its pre-order bonus, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. Attendees will also be able to try out a new experience based on the franchise that has been developed for PlayStation VR.

XP 2016 will also be the setting for the Call of Duty Championship Finals. Teams from all over the world have been doing battle in the Call of Duty World League to gain access to the final stage of the competition — and the $2 million prize pool that’s up for grabs.

Meanwhile, there will be plenty of other fun for fans of the franchise. There’s set to be a paintball zone inspired by the series’ iconic Nuketown map, a chance to play a version of the Zombies game mode using laser tag equipment, and a host of panels with the various development studios associated with Call of Duty.

Tickets are being offered in three tiers; the Enlisted ticket costs $49 and will secure seats for the World Championship and access to gameplay and activities, while a Veteran ticket costs $129 and includes all that and a copy of the digital legacy edition of Infinite Warfare. The $199 Prestige ticket adds a special allocation for activities and gameplay, as well as VIP bonuses.

Call of Duty XP 2016 will take place from September 2 to 4. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. PT on June 11.

The best weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
A soldier standing in an armory.

To the layman, every gun in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 probably seems the same. They all shoot bullets, right? In reality, that couldn't be further from the truth. Even when you take player skill out of the equation, each gun has vastly different stats and applications that make some, even within their own category, just plain better choices for everyone. Each gun is broken down into various stats, including recoil, ADS speed, damage, and much more, which makes it hard to easily compare them. When you factor in just how many guns are available as you level up and keep unlocking more, the prospect of picking the best ones becomes overwhelming. If you're trying to build the ideal loadout to dominate the current meta, these are the best weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for each weapon type.

We will detail the top picks per each class, and then list the rest in terms of how they rank.
