Sony Tablet S and Tablet P photo gallery

Take a look at some pictures of Sony’s new Tablet S and Tablet P. Sony’s latest devices both utilize the Android engine and feature distinctive designs. The Tablet S carries a wedge shape design and a 9.4-inch display, while the Tablet P features twin 5.5-inch displays that fold together.

The feature rich tablets both utilize a 1 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, with the Tablet S sporting both WiFi and Bluetooth. Additionally, the Tablet P also features Wi Fi and Bluetooth, but will also be available with a 4G option from AT&T.

Pre-orders for the Tablet S have opened now, with a 16 GB version coming in at $499 and a 32 GB version costing $599. Pricing will be aggressive as Sony aims to take on Apple’s popular iPad 2 when it lands on shelves next month. Sony has yet to release a price or release date for the Tablet P.

Three weeks ago, I shut down my trusty Microsoft Surface 2-in-1 to embark on a daring experiment – using an Android tablet as my primary computing device. More specifically, I mean using the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 as my sole work machine. It might sound outlandish, but to my surprise, I came out with a mostly positive experience.

Yes, there were a few frustrations, but the Galaxy Tab S8 gave me numerous reasons to believe that Android tablets are not the lost cause that many out there think. The Android tablet experience is surprisingly strong in 2022, and I hope things continue to improve in the years to come. Here's how and why I stuck with the Galaxy Tab S8 for weeks without losing my sanity.

Samsung has revised its playbook for the Galaxy Tab S8 series. Instead of sticking with two models, as with the Tab S7 and Tab S7 Plus, it has now split the series into three. This means users have the Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8 Plus, and Tab S8 Ultra to choose from, with the Ultra going all-out to yank the tablet crown away from the latest iPad Pro. This division leaves both the Tab S8 and Tab S8 Plus in an interesting position, insofar as the Plus is no longer that much more of a premium experience compared to its standard model.

Still, there are differences between the two tablets, with the larger display and bigger battery being the most obvious features of the Galaxy Tab S8 Plus.
