Kleer Offers DigiFi Opera Wireless Earbuds

Wireless tech developer Kleer has begun offering offering has begun offering the Opera wireless earbuds, which it developed in conjunction with South Koreas DigiFi. Although the earbuds have been on sale in Korea for a while, this marks the first time the system has been available in the U.S. market.

The DigiFi Opera earbuds use a 2.4 GHz wireless link to communicate with a transmitter that users can easily attach to an iPod or other personal media player—or, really, anything with a headphone output, including DVD players, stereos, phones, or other systems. The Kleer systems push uncompressed CD-quality (16-bit, 44.1 kHz audio) and claim to offer as much as 10 hours of playback. Unlike systems in which transmitters and headsets are paired one-to-one, up to four people with Kleer-enabled headsets within range can listen to the same audio source.

The DigiFi Opera earbuds are available in black or white, and users can adjust the length of the wire. The units charge via USB, and ship with an audio extension cable. Kleer is offering the DigiFi Opera wireless earbuds now for $98.

The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is officially underway, and among the devices set to debut is a new wireless charger from PopSockets that will finally allow those with PopGrips on their phones to charge their devices wirelessly and quickly.

According to TechCrunch, PopSockets plans to debut its PopPower Home wireless charger at CES today, January 7. The charger features a circular hole in the middle that allows you to place your phone with a PopGrip onto the charger and still have it touch the back of your phone to charge.

At first glance the Ossia Cota Home could be mistaken for a speaker, but this 30 x 30 centimeter device is actually a power transmitter designed for the home or office. It's capable of automatically connecting to multiple devices in a 30-foot radius and powering them up simultaneously over the air. The simplest way to explain it is to imagine a Wi-Fi router that delivers power to the gadgets in your home instead of internet access, except that it operates on the 5.8GHz frequency.
