The best Nintendo Switch deal for Cyber Week includes a $20 credit and a case

Some of the best bundles and deals have come and gone with the passing of Cyber Monday, but there are a few solid deals that remain. The holiday shopping season is still going strong with the latest Cyber Week sales happening at Walmart, Amazon, and Best Buy right now. One such sale is this Walmart-exclusive Nintendo Switch Bundle with Mario Red Joy-Con, $20 Nintendo eShop Credit, and Carrying Case. Nintendo Switch deals like this don’t come around all too often, so you won’t want to let this one slip.

For $300 you get the Mario red left and right Joy-Con controllers, along with an updated version of Nintendo’s eight-generation handheld/home console hybrid. It offers an increased battery life ranging from 4.5 to 9 hours depending on the game being played while using your Switch in handheld mode. This bundle also includes a $20 store credit for Nintendo’s digital storefront, Nintendo eShop, as well as a carrying case that’s ideal for those who are playing their Switch in handheld mode. Another interesting detail about this bundle is the Joy-Con controller color variant – most Nintendo Switch consoles include either space gray or red/blue Joy-Cons with the console. This is the second Nintendo Switch bundle to include the Mario red Joy-Con color scheme. it joins the Super Mario Odyssey Nintendo Switch bundle released a few years back.

In the past, Nintendo has been extremely stingy when it comes to discounting its gaming systems, especially the Nintendo Switch and the recently released Nintendo Switch Lite. Even though the Walmart-exclusive deal does not offer massive savings on the system, the bundle does include a free carrying case, which is ideal for playing their Switch on the go. The $20 Nintendo eShop credit allows users to purchase a digital game for the system. Though it does not come with any titles, you can take a look at some of the best Nintendo Switch games on the market today.

More Nintendo Switch deals

Alongside this amazing deal, Walmart is offering discounts on several digital games available on the Switch, including The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and Mario Tennis Aces, both of which are $40 each. Although you cannot use your $20 eShop credit to purchase some digital games via Walmart, the Nintendo eShop does offer a more expansive library of digital titles for you to purchase, or you can use the eShop credit to purchase some downloadable content for select games, including Mortal Kombart 11 or Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, both of which include post-launch content that adds additional fighters to each game’s roster.

Switch vs. PS4 vs. Xbox One: Which console should you buy?

When it comes to overall power, the Switch can’t really compete with Xbox or PS4 consoles. So if you’re going to compare the Switch to the Xbox One or PS4, you really want to stick to looking at the exclusives. Nintendo is one of those companies that has really built up their brand from nostalgic game franchises like Mario Kart and The Legend of Zelda, which you won’t find on any other system. It also comes with a bevy of really good indie games that have been produced solely on the platform.

Another main difference between the Switch and its competitors is the ability to switch between handheld and console mode. This versatility has really given Nintendo the advantage with anyone who enjoys gaming on the go.

World of Goo 2 might just be the Nintendo Switch’s next must-own co-op game
A built structure in World of Goo 2.

When I sat down to demo World of Goo 2 at this year’s GDC, I noted to the developers on hand how surprising it was to see a sequel after so long. “It’s been, what? Ten years?” I said. I was very far off the mark: They noted that the original World of Goo launched in 2008. After playing a few levels (and having an existential crisis over time’s rapid passing), I’d find myself wondering how such an obvious slam dunk didn’t come sooner.

Like its predecessor, World of Goo 2 is a physics-based puzzle game where players craft structures from little, gooey critters. It presents a series of engineering challenges, as poorly built structures will topple under the weight of all those jiggly little pals. Rather than reinventing that concept entirely, World of Goo 2 adds some wild new ideas onto that stable structure that opens up its puzzle potential. The result is a chaotic co-op game that’s a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch.
