Infamous: Second Son has its first daughter in standalone DLC First Light

In the torrent of announcements at Sony’s E3 conference yesterday was confirmation of Infamous: Second Son‘s first DLC, First Light. This standalone prequel will follow the backstory of Abigail “Fetch” Walker, another conduit who allies with Delsin Rowe to take down the Department of Unified Protection.

An origin story, First Light will show how Fetch developed her neon-manipulating powers (What is it about standalone DLC and neon?), mastered them to become a trained killer, got captured, and subsequently escaped from the superhuman prison, Curdun Cay.

Infamous: First Light will come out some time in August for download to PS4. As a standalone you don’t need the original game in order to play, but owning it will unlock exclusive content.

Star Wars: Zero Company is an ambitious blend of XCOM meets RPG for newcomers

Star Wars: Zero Company has been officially unveiled at Star Wars Celebration Japan and will launch sometime in 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. The game combines the gritty tactics of XCOM with the rich lore of the Star Wars universe. Set among the final period of the Clone Wars, Zero Company doesn't shy away from punishing difficulty but also aims to introduce new players to the tactics genre.

“Our vision for Star Wars Zero Company is grounded in gameplay design pillars that weave in the immersive Star Wars galaxy with engaging turn-based tactics gameplay,” said Greg Foertsch, CEO and Creative Director at Bit Reactor. “It’s our aim to deliver a game with an original Star Wars story from the Clone Wars era that has meaningful outcomes from player choices, and deep turn-based tactical combat with an approachable and cinematic presentation.”

Assassin’s Creed Shadows appears to have been rated for the Nintendo Switch 2

The Pan European Game Information website, better known as PEGI, just rated Assassin's Creed Shadows for the Nintendo Switch 2 — and that's a pretty solid indication the game could make its way to the console either at or after its June 5 launch. That said, it's also possible that someone simply clicked the wrong checkbox on the backend of the site and that Ubisoft has no intention of porting the game to the Switch 2, so take this with a grain of salt.

PEGI is basically the European version of the ESRB, responsible for suggesting the appropriate target age for a game. If you go to the specific page for Assassin's Creed Shadows, it doesn't list the Nintendo Switch 2, but if you look at the "Most Searched Games" subhead, it shows up there.

Fortnite is getting another Star Wars tie-in, this time with Jar Jar Binks

Fortnite's next Battle Pass is Star Wars themed (and appropriately dubbed Galactic Battle), and it will be here in less than two weeks on May 2. It also adds Darth Jar Jar, so get ready for a lot of "mesa winner" jokes in the near future. The news broke during Star Wars Celebration and included a lot of details about what the new additions might bring, including adding Force Lightning as an in-game ability.

Besides Death Jar Jar, other skins like Emperor Palpatine can also be unlocked through the Battle Pass. In addition, there are mashups with existing Fortnite characters like the Wookie Cuddle Team Leader (who doesn't want to cuddle a Wookie?) and more. Players can purchase a Mace Windu skin through the Item Shop and also utilize new vehicles like the TIE Fighter and X-Wing.
