Ubisoft acquires THQ Montreal, South Park: The Stick of Truth will survive

It’s finally out! Check out our review of South Park: The Stick of Truth RPG from Ubisoft.

Following this morning’s revelation that faltering games publisher THQ had been broken up and auctioned piecemeal, Ubisoft announced that it had agreed to purchased THQ’s Montreal development studio and in turn, the right to continue development on the upcoming, heavily-anticipated South Park: The Stick of Truth.

The game, as you’d expect, is based on the hit Comedy Central cartoon created by Matt Parker and Trey Stone. This duo has been heavily involved with the creation of The Stick of Truth since day one, and as you can see from the above screenshot the game’s developers have so far done a phenomonal job of capturing the trademark South Park aesthetic. Since this is a roleplaying game, it’s also important to mention that the aforementioned developers on this title are Obsidian Entertainment, the extremely capable people responsible for Fallout: New Vegas, Neverwinter Nights 2 and, in a previous incarnation, games like Baldur’s Gate 2 and Planescape: Torment.

Fortunately for those of you waiting anxiously for South Park: The Stick of Truth, Ubisoft has every intention of continuing the game’s development. According to the publisher, developer Obsidian Entertainment will continue to work on the title, and while Ubisoft wouldn’t commit to an official release date for the game, it does claim that South Park: The Stick of Truth will still see retail shelves at some point during 2013.

That’s wonderful news, but we expected as much. More intriguing is word that Ubisoft also acquired an as yet unknown IP with its purchase of THQ Montreal. Sadly, though intriguing, that last sentence is the sum total of what we know about this project. We’ll bring you more information on this mystery game as it emerges.

While it was missing for almost the first year of the game, Counter -trike 2 has finally allowed players to swap hands and play however is more natural and comfortable for them. Here is how to set your preferred handedness in Counter-Strike 2 and swap it on the fly.
How to swap handedness

If you want to set your character to always play either left- or right-handed, the best way is to set your preferred handedness in the settings. Open up your settings and go into Game > Item and scroll down to the Preferred Viewmodel Left/Right Handedness option. The drop-down menu will let you choose between right and left so you will always default to that view.

Homeworld 3 preload guide: release time, file size, and preorder

A large-scale sci-fi real-time strategy series is finally coming back with Homeworld 3, and its release is imminent. This is the only RTS series that places you in direct control of entire fleets of ships in 3D combat in some of the most beautiful regions of space we've seen. While we have to wait to see if the story has a satisfying conclusion after all these years, there are always the co-op and PvP modes to sink your time into long after the credits roll. Let's make sure your ships are refueled and ready to take off when Homeworld 3 releases.
Homeworld 3 release time
There are two release times for Homeworld 3 depending on whether or not you purchased the Fleet Command or Collector's editions. If you have either of these versions preordered, then you can start playing at 11 a.m. PT on may 10. If not, then the global release will be at 11 a.m. PT on May 13.

Developer Blackbird Interactive has stated that Homeworld 3 will be around 40 GB in size,so be sure you have at least that much space to spare.
Homeworld 3 preload options
Unfortunately, there will be no preloading options for Homeworld 3 prior to launch. You will have to wait for your game to download in full once it unlocks to start playing.
