The best iPhone 12 Mini screen protectors

The iPhone 12 Mini may be the smallest of Apple’s newest smartphones, but it certainly isn’t without its own charms. With a less-oversized 5.4-inch display, it provides True Tone color technology and a Super Retina OLED screen, rivaling its bigger siblings for clarity and detail. It looks great, but as durable as Apple’s smartphones are known to be, it will still need a good screen protector if you want it to continue looking great for as long as you use it.

Supershieldz is known for making low-cost yet high-quality screen protectors, and this specimen for the iPhone 12 Mini is certainly one of these protectors. It’s made with tempered glass with a 9H hardness rating, so it’s as solid as any other protector you’re likely to encounter. It’s also pretty thin, with its slim profile helping it offer 99.99% clarity, as well as a high level of touchscreen sensitivity. If that weren’t enough, the protector has been given a hydrophobic and oleophobic coating, meaning it will repel sweat, water, and oils. Sold in a pack of two.

Here’s something for those of us who tend to drop bricks, concrete blocks, and other heavy objects onto our phones. Seriously, this tempered glass screen protector from OtterBox has been manufactured in conjunction with Corning, so you know it’s going to be pretty tough. In fact, tests show it offers up to five times greater scratch resistance than other similar products, with the protector resistant against splintering and shattering. It also comes with reinforced edges to prevent chipping, so while it may be a little pricey, it’s possibly the most durable protector you’re likely to find for the iPhone 12 Mini.

Here’s another supremely tough screen protector that has been engineered to outdo the competition. It has been manufactured using a process known as “double ion-exchange,” which chemically reinforces its tempered glass to give it double the strength of its ordinary rivals. Not only that, but its glass has been treated with lithium aluminosilicate (LAS), endowing it with a greater ability to survive drops. It’s also appreciably slim and light, despite its steeliness, with its 0.29mm thickness preserving the original transparency and sensitivity of the iPhone 12 Mini’s screen.

Their tempered glass has the maximum 9H hardness rating, making them robust against scratches, drops, and most everyday impacts. They’re also only 0.02 inches thick (about 0.5mm), meaning that they’ll retain the high-definition clarity and color of the iPhone 12 Mini’s screen. Not only are they protective, but they’ve been treated with an oleophobic and hydrophobic coating so that fingerprint smudges and water splashes aren’t a problem for them. They come with an installation guidance frame so that you can apply them easily to the phone.

Its tempered glass is constructed using aluminosilicate and has undergone an ion-exchange tempering process, so it will happily take an awful amount of punishment. It also offers an antimicrobial coating, inhibiting the growth of bacteria and guarding against its gradual degradation over time. On top of this, it includes a layer that filters out potentially harmful high-energy visible (HEV) light, saving your eyes from irritation and your sleep from disruption. Lastly, it comes with a special oleophobic coating which spreads oils and residues so thinly they eventually become invisible.

It has been helpfully treated with an oleophobic coating, which repels fingerprints, oils, and other kinds of household grease. Being sold in a pack of four, it’s also very high-value, while its tempered glass also means that it’s highly protective. UniqueMe prepared an installation video for the protector so that you can watch exactly how to apply it.

It also has an oleophobic and hydrophobic screen coating, so you can rest assured that it will stop your fingers from smudging the screen. At the same time, the aforementioned thinness means that none of the touchscreen’s sensitivity and accuracy are altered. Sold in a three-pack, it includes a cleaning kit and installation frame, so you should be able to quite easily apply it without leaving any bubbles.

It’s safe to say that it will guard your smartphone against most potential damage, including drops, cracks, and various impacts. The provided installation frame makes installation easier, although it doesn’t appear to come with its own cleaning kit, so you’ll have to find a cleaning cloth yourself before applying it.

Samsung aped iPhone filters, but served it better on the Galaxy S25
Using filters on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.

With the arrival of the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung introduced a bevy of camera-centric changes. Take for example the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which upgrades to a 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor, a new Spatio Temporal filter for blur reduction, 8K capture across all lenses, default 10-bit HDR recording, and more. But the company silently gave a massive boost to filters.

So far, users have only been able to pick a filter and capture media with the effect applied on top. There was no scope for fine-tuning the filter characteristics in real time. That limitation has finally gone to the grave with the Galaxy S25 series.

The Galaxy S25 display in the hand

Samsung is ushering in what will undoubtedly be an exciting year for smartphones with its new Galaxy S25 lineup. With all three models featuring a bespoke version of Qualcomm's most powerful silicon to date and a wealth of new Galaxy AI features, and the usual gorgeous AMOLED displays, they're more compelling than ever.

The Galaxy S25 might be the runt of the litter, but it's still a pocket-sized powerhouse — and it doesn't come cheap. At $800, you'll definitely want to shield it from the bumps and scrapes of life. That starts with a robust case, but don't forget the screen. After all, its the most fragile part of any phone, and the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 only goes so far. Adding some extra protection is a good idea, particularly if your phone spends time in a purse or backpack alongside keys and other abrasive items.

So far, Nothing has confirmed only that the Phone 3a is on the way and that more will be revealed at its March 4 conference, and the latest teaser post only adds to the mystery.

The shared image depicts a button on the side of the phone beneath the power button. For reference, Nothing has always kept its power button and volume rockers on opposite sides of the handset. Unless the Nothing Phone 3a is undergoing a massive design change, the picture indicates a new button is coming with this latest release, and many fans suspect it is a dedicated camera shutter button.
