Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet event pictures

Yesterday afternoon, Lenovo held a launch event for the ThinkPad Tablet in Union Square, Manhattan. The ThinkPad Tablet is its newest 10.1-inch Android tablet. The party had the usual tiny food, DJ, and drinks as well as a number of ThinkPads and vendors. As you can probably tell Lenovo is aiming for the business market with this device, which comes with a its own special stylus built in. And Lenovo is marketing a keyboard/case for an extra $100.

A suite of productivity software and its own app store, which already has 200 or so applications, which are all tested by Lenovo for viruses and bugs. Of the apps on display, we liked the remote desktop viewing app by Citrix, which allows you to use your Windows PC from your Android ThinkPad with minimal lag. Two apps from MyScript were also available, which showed some impressive handwriting recognition and conversion. According to reps, you can take a novel’s worth of handwritten notes and convert them to text instantly. Not bad.

Specs just leaked for the next budget-focused Android tablet

Xiaomi Pad 7

It seems like every company has an Android tablet of their own these days, but Xiaomi has been a big name in the field. And now, the specs for the upcoming Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro — both highly anticipated tablets — just leaked in China, according to GSMArena. The tablets received criticism for their larger size, although it's a trait many fans love. While there's no specific launch date, the two tablets are expected to release sometime around November of this year at currently unknown prices.

As far as specs go, both tablets will boast the same 11.17-inch screen with an impressive 144Hz refresh rate. That's great news for anyone hoping to use these to watch their favorite shows or get some gaming in; the high refresh rate means a much smoother experience overall. The Pad 7 is expected to use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, while the Pad 7 Pro will have the more powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 behind the wheel.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE could serve a double whammy of big surprises

Samsung introduced its latest Fan Edition phone, the Galaxy S24 FE, barely a few weeks ago. But it seems the company already has some radical plans chalked out for its successor early next year.

Citing supply chain reports, Korean outlet The Elec reports that the Galaxy S25 FE will retain the 6.7-inch format, mirroring the supersized approach taken by the Galaxy S24 FE. The increase in display size this year has been a bit divisive, but it seems some interesting changes are due in 2025.

MKBHD continues to slowly try and fix the Panels app

Do you like really cool wallpapers for your phone? Of course, you do. Everyone does. That's why it seems like such an easy market to provide for, and why it was such a shock when Marques Brownlee — MKBHD — tripped over himself with the launch of the Panels app. Despite the YouTuber's popularity, much of the internet quickly turned on him when he released his wallpaper app, called Panels ,and it asked for an unnecessary number of permissions alongside an absurdly high subscription cost.

Brownlee made the right move by responding calmly to the criticism and listening to what fans had to say. He released a 15-minute long video detailing what he planned to change and improve to address those concerns.
