Razer Junglecat equips your iPhone with a slide-out gamepad

If you like playing games on your iPhone 5 or 5S but aren’t a fan of the touch-only controls they bring, Razer has announced the Junglecat in the hopes of putting those touch controls in the deep recesses of the universe.

The Junglecat is a slide-out gamepad that comes equipped with triggers, face buttons, and a D-pad. It works by sliding your iPhone 5 or 5S into the Junglecat and plugging it into the Lightning port. From there, you can play any of the Junglecat’s compatible games and customize controls using the companion app. From within the app, you can customize individual button sensitivity or even reassign controls to different buttons.

The Junglecat is available in either black or white and is rechargeable via Micro USB. The Junglecat will be available in July for $100, though you can sign up to be notified when orders go live through the Razer store. The announcement was accompanied by the quirkiest unboxing video we’ve seen in quite some time, which you can watch below.
