While Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is expected to be a box-office hit, you never truly know how a movie will perform until the numbers start pouring in. That said, Deadline reports that the early ticket sales for this superhero battle royale show dollars stacking up faster than a speeding bullet.

Two weeks out from its March 25, 2016 release, the film is outpacing box-office behemoths like DeadpoolThe Avengers, and Furious 7, which opened to the tune of $132.4 million, $207.4 million, and $147.1 million, respectively. All three of those films have broken box-office records and the last two on the list rank in the top six in terms of all-time box office gross.

Sure, it’s still early, but If you were to race Usain Bolt, Carl Lewis, and Michael Johnson, and you immediately sprinted out to a lead, you’d feel pretty darn good about yourself.

If Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman generates anything north of $152 million on its opening weekend, it will claim the crown for the biggest pre-summer opening weekend of all-time and — at this point — that’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

Though the hard numbers aren’t yet available, one Warner Bros. analyst estimates the film has already generated between $20 and $25 million, a figure that is comparable to the advanced ticket sales for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, which posted a $160 million opening weekend. Driving these early figures are males aged 14-49, who make up a disproportionate chunk of the advance purchases.

All along, the buzz around this film has been akin to the energy surrounding a big-time heavyweight fight and it’s not surprising that the hype is now translating into big bucks. While only time will tell if the film can sustain these massive numbers throughout its theatrical run, the early returns — as a CNN political analyst might say — are looking very good.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25, 2016. Stay tuned for updates.

Henry Cavill’s James Bond audition leaks online. Should Superman have played 007?

Henry Cavill nearly wore a tuxedo instead of a cape.
In 2005, Cavill auditioned for the role of James Bond in Casino Royale. According to director Martin Campbell, Cavill and Daniel Craig were the finalists to replace Pierce Brosnan as 007. For years, fans have wondered what Cavill's interpretation of Bond would have been like. Thanks to a leaked video, these fans now get their wish.
Cavill's Bond audition has leaked online. Posted to Ron South's YouTube channel, Cavill is seen reading lines from a scene in 1995's GoldenEye. Cavill is only 22 in the video, while sporting long black hair. According to the video's description, the video came from a "VHS tape found in a recycling bin at a movie studio."

As the story goes, Craig won the role and played the iconic spy in five movies. Producers opted to go with an older version of Bond — Craig was 37 in 2005 — instead of an early-20s spy. Despite losing the role, Cavill won over Campbell, who praised Cavill's "tremendous" audition.

Tom Cruise risks his life in the latest stunt for Mission: Impossible 8. In other news, the sky is blue, and the grass is green.

As Hollywood's biggest movie star, Cruise has made his bones by executing several of the most jaw-dropping stunts in cinema's illustrious history. In the last decade, Cruise has performed a halo jump in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, piloted multiple aircraft in Top Gun: Maverick, and rode a motorcycle off a cliff in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.
For his next trick, Cruise will hang upside down from a biplane in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. In footage shared on Cruise's social media, the 62-year-old is hanging off a biplane as director Christopher McQuarrie watches the footage from a monitor. The stunt will likely be featured in Mission: Impossible 8's next trailer, with a rumored release during Super Bowl LIX.
