Lady Gaga takes the spotlight — and the driver’s seat — in latest ‘Carpool Karaoke’

The front seat of James Corden’s car featured another huge star in the most recent episode of The Late Late Show. This time, it was Lady Gaga riding shotgun — and even driving — while singing along with the show’s host during the Carpool Karaoke segment.

The always-popular routine brought the usual combination of entertaining performance and unique interview. We get to see Gaga in action, not only performing songs off her latest album, Joanne, plus earlier hits, but also showing off her driving skills and signs of road rage. The pop star also answered Corden’s questions about the Super Bowl, songwriting, and fashion — while he wore an approximation of her infamous meat dress, no less.

There were a lot of gentertaining moments between the two, including Lady Gaga’s reaction to Corden’s edible outfit. Ironically, she looked pretty appalled, but to be fair, he basically just had a layer of lunch meat draped on him that he started eating. The two discussed some of her controversial looks and she joked about “fail[ing] fashion.”

“Well, I guess that, with me, I just never really worry about, you know, who likes it or doesn’t. Kind of the point is to be unfashionable,” she tells Corden in the segment.

The conversation didn’t stray into fashion for long, though; instead, they mostly talked music. We learned a lot about Gaga, including the fact that she can write songs in just 10 minutes. Believe it or not, Born This Way, Just Dance, and Poker Face were each written in that amount of time. No wonder she has been able to create so many hits in a relatively short time.

Overall, Gaga proved to be another fun Carpool Karaoke companion, road rage issues notwithstanding.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning trailer assembles a new team
The cast of Mission Impossible - The Final Reckoning.

Since the first Mission: Impossible movie in 1996, Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt has either gone solo or kept a very close circle of friends as his team. Following the events of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, Ethan's team lost one member and gained another. And in the newly released Super Bowl trailer for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Ethan's team is adding two more unexpected members.

Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames) and Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg) have been around for multiple movies, while Dead Reckoning introduced a thief named Grace (Hayley Atwell) and gave her a redemption arc that ended with her joining the IMF. The new additions are more surprising, including Paris (Pom Klementieff), an assassin who appeared to be mortally wounded at the end of the last film. Apparently Paris is going to get some redemption of her own after working for Gabriel (Esai Morales) in the previous film.
