What’s happened? Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan’s hit CIA action series, Lioness, has been officially renewed for a third season on Paramount+.

  • The news about Lioness season 3 was first announced on October 1, roughly ten months after the season 2 finale aired in December 2024.
  • No official logline or cast list for season 3 has been revealed yet.
  • Stars Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman will reprise their roles on Lioness for season 3 and serve as executive producers.

Why this is important: This news confirms Lioness‘s future after several months of waiting.

  • There had been word in August that the series would be renewed by Paramount+, which was finally confirmed today.
  • As stated in season 2’s logline, Lioness previously showed that “the CIA’s fight against terror moved closer to home” and that “Joe (Saldaña), Kaitlyn (Kidman), and Bryon (Michael Kelly) enlisted a new Lioness operative to infiltrate a previously unknown threat.”
  • Development for the show was reportedly delayed to fit the schedules of its many prominent stars.

Why should I care? Lioness has become one of Paramount+’s most popular shows, and fans will get to see the story continue in season 3.

  • Lioness‘s season 2 premiere reportedly reached 12.4 million viewers worldwide, with the show’s viewership rising to 4.8 million to 5.4 million households.
  • Sheridan’s work, particularly Landman, Tulsa King, and the Yellowstone franchise, has become increasingly popular on Paramount+, so Lioness may continue to be another success story from him.

OK, what’s next? Given the amount of time it took for season 3 to be greenlit, it will still be a while before Lioness returns with new episodes.

A ChatGPT-like AI feature is coming to Spotify for music requests and listening-history questions
spotify

Spotify is rolling out a new AI-powered conversational feature that lets Premium users talk directly to the app about what they want to hear. Users can type or speak a request and refine the results through follow-up questions instead of manually searching for a song, podcast, or audiobook.

The feature is available from Spotify’s Home and Now Playing screens and works much like a personal audio assistant. It can choose what plays, answer questions about the current track or album, recommend something new, and look through your listening history to provide more personalized responses.

Christopher Nolan says not owning a smartphone helps him think better
Christopher Nolan sits in front of an IMAX camera.

Christopher Nolan has spent his career embracing cutting-edge filmmaking technology while resisting one of the most common gadgets on the planet: the smartphone. The Oscar-winning director behind Oppenheimer, Inception, and the upcoming The Odyssey says his decision isn't about rejecting technology altogether. It's about protecting something he believes has become increasingly rare - time to think.

In an interview with The Telegraph ahead of the premiere of The Odyssey, Nolan explained that he still doesn't own a smartphone, despite living in a world where QR codes, digital tickets, and messaging apps have become everyday necessities. His reasoning, however, is far more practical than philosophical.
