Get yourself a personal trainer at a moment’s notice with the Helthee app

Looking for a good personal trainer can be tough. Without even getting into costs, scheduling can be a bit of a nightmare. This is where Helthee comes into play.

To put it simply, Helthee is like the Uber of exercising. The app is there to give you an on-demand personal trainer when it is most convenient for you. Simply make a request to meet at your house, office, hotel, gym, or park and one of their certified trainers will meet you there in an hour. You can even book a session a month away if you prefer to plan your calendar further in advance.

Starting Monday, Helthee will go into beta in Miami and anyone in the area can download it from the App Store. Both single and pair sessions will be available for durations of 45, 60, or 75 minutes. Find a trainer you like? A re-book option is there to allow users to book another session with the same trainer. Still looking for the right trainer? With over 250 applications from certified personal trainers in just a few weeks, there won’t be any shortages. Each one of these candidates then goes through a thorough vetting process and background check.

“We feel that we are filling a void in the health & fitness market for people who want easier accessibility to quality fitness professionals in their area and at their own convenience,” says co-founder and CEO Brett Heimann. “Time has become a scarcity for people.”

If you live outside the Miami region, don’t fret. Miami will act as the testing ground and with success, the company plans to add other major cities to its platform. On-demand personal trainers are an untapped market, so it shouldn’t be long before it takes off. Check out the website and sign up to receive $10 off your first appointment.

The Google Home app is getting a long-overdue feature

According to the sleuths over at Android Authority, the Google Home app is about to get a much-needed feature that I'm honestly shocked hasn't been added yet: a search bar.

If you've never used the Google Home app before, it's sort of the command center for all things smart home in the Google smart home ecosystem. If you only have a few smart home devices, it's easy enough to navigate — but if you have an extensive smart home setup, you could have upwards of 50 devices listed in the app. If you don't take time to organize and label them, it gets unwieldy fast.

The Google Home app is getting a major overhaul. Here’s what it looks like

Just days after announcing its fourth-generation Nest Learning Thermostat, Google is set to change the Google Home app. As first noted by Android Police, this will revamp how users interact with their compatible devices.

The updated app, part of the Google Home Public Preview version 3.20.1.8, has been revised, including the thermostat controls and the general UI. The refresh also relocates the Nest app and Energy Dashboard icons underneath the main thermostat controls; they now look like pills. Meanwhile, the settings cog and overflow menu remain at the app’s top.
