Best Prime Day Amazon Deals
This story is part of the Digital Trends Prime Day 2026 coverage

Amazon Prime Day is one of the best times of the year for getting a great deal, with big discounts on items ranging from electronics, to clothing, to household goods. Now, we may have an idea of when Amazon Prime Day 2019 will take place, thanks to a leaked PR email. According to the email, Amazon Prime Day 2019 will be on July 15, which pretty much lines up with when we’d expect the shopping day to be.

It may be a week or two before Amazon officially announces the dates for Prime Day. Last year, the dates were announced on July 2, around two weeks before Prime Day sales kicked off on July 16. Prime Day actually lasts more than 24 hours. Last year, it lasted 36 hours, so if you happen to be busy on July 15, you’ll hopefully still be able to take advantage of the awesome deals for at least part of the next day.

Usually, Amazon Prime Day discounts apply most heavily to Amazon’s own products — and in the last year, it has launched a ton of them. For example, you’ll likely see heavy discounts on Amazon’s range of smart speakers, including the Amazon Echo and Amazon Echo Dot. You’ll also see discounts on Amazon-branded smart home devices, Fire TV streaming devices, Kindle ebook readers, Fire HD tablets, and so on. Since Amazon now owns Blink, Blink’s smart security cameras may see a hefty discount too. Some deals are available to non-Prime members, though most are reserved for those with an Amazon Prime account.

Amazon Prime Day is now in its fifth year, and has quickly become one of the biggest shopping days of the year — rivaling even the likes of Black Friday, at least when it comes to sales on Amazon specifically.

We’ve already started thinking about what to expect from Amazon Prime Day, so check out our guide on the best Amazon Prime Day deals — which not only notes some expectations for Prime Day, but also lists a few awesome deals that you can take advantage of right now.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: Everything we know about Samsung’s next flagship foldable
Though it will feature improvements across the board, the memory crisis might not spare Samsung’s Fold 8 Ultra.
Electronics, Speaker, White Board

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is not the phone that reimagines what a foldable looks like. As that job falls to its sibling, the wider-screen Galaxy Z Fold 8, the Ultra could come as the direct successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, with the same tall, narrow design and the same book-style proportions, for the same audience.

If you've used a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold in the past and think that the shape is perfect for you, the Fold 8 Ultra could be just the right phone for you. It has a redesigned inner display, a substantially larger battery, faster charging, and the new Flex Titanium technology designed to minimize the crease that has troubled Samsung's foldables for years.

Personal Intelligence in Search now connects to Google Calendar
Google Search AI can now read your Calendar and add events automatically
Google Calendar

Google is taking another step toward making Search feel less like a search engine and more like a personal assistant. The company has announced that AI Mode's Personal Intelligence can now connect directly to Google Calendar, allowing it not only to reference your schedule but also to create calendar events on your behalf.

Until now, Personal Intelligence mainly pulled information from apps like Gmail and Google Photos to provide more relevant responses. Calendar changes the equation because it becomes the first connected Google app that doesn't just provide context. It can actively act. The feature is rolling out now to users in the United States, with a wider international rollout planned later.
