Got too many pics to handle? This app turns your messy gallery into shareable stories

Add as a preferred source on Google

If you’re a new parent, you know how challenging it can be to find the time to go through and organize all of the photos and videos on your smartphone. Today, RealNetworks launched Realtimes, a new app that finds the best photos and videos you’ve taken on your smartphone and instantly turns them into RealTime stories that can be shared with family and friends.

If the name RealNetworks sounds familiar, it should. It is the same company that developed RealPlayer and RealAudio, and if you grew up in the ’90s, you may have listened to your first streaming music with the application. Now, RealNetworks is taking on sharing personal stories.

From the moment your baby was born to your baby’s first birthday, the RealTimes app creates engaging photo and video stories. The RealTimes app lets users rearrange clips and photos, change the duration, add filters, and use personal soundtracks. Recipients don’t even need to install the RealTimes app, in order to view RealTime Stories, either, which makes sharing easier.

Rob Glaser, CEO and founder of RealNetworks told Digital Trends that “as a busy parent myself, I know firsthand how time-consuming it is to manage and sort through the massive number of photos and videos I take, not to mention trying to share them in a compelling way. The best part about RealTimes app is that it does all the hard work by creating high-quality stories that are fun to watch and share.”

The RealTimes app offers two subscription plans: a Premium Plan for $5 that gives users an additional 25GB of storage and Unlimited Plan for $10. By purchasing the Unlimited Plan, subscribers have access to all music tracks, all filters and effects, and unlimited storage. In addition to the two subscription plans, users can opt for the in-app $1 purchases, which let users create RealTimes Stories longer than 30 seconds.

In addition to RealTime Stories, users can manage photo and video collections with one app, as well as share personal photos and videos publicly or privately. The photos and videos are instantly organized into a timeline by date and location, making it easier to access the photos you want when you want them.

The RealTimes app is available for free download on nine different devices including iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Windows PCs, Roku TV players, Chromecast, and more.

The Xteink e-reader didn’t make sense to me until I did this one thing
I replaced the stock firmware on my Xteink X4 and finally got the typography, customization, and reading stats I wanted.
CrossInk running on Xteink X4

I got my hands on the Xteink X4 a few weeks back, and I was really excited. But as soon as I started using it, I realized the reading experience wasn't that great. The font rendering was poor, the line and word spacing was haphazard, and I couldn't customize much of anything.

Don't get me wrong, the stock firmware has received several updates over the past few months. Many of its issues are gone, and some things, like sleep and wake time, are way better now. Still, something was missing, and I kept leaving the X4 on my desk instead of reading on it.

The iPhone Duo is already sold out for Christmas, and you might not get one until 2027
Missed the preorder? Your best shot is a store line.
iPhone Duo

Preorder day is supposed to be the easy part of buying a new iPhone. It should involve little more than visiting Apple’s website, choosing the storage and color options, and paying the asking price to reserve a unit.

With Apple’s first foldable, that isn’t the case. Apple opened pre-orders for the iPhone Duo on Friday, October 16, 2026, and within an hour, delivery dates had slipped well into next year.

Samsung might swap the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s chip if Qualcomm can’t keep it cool
Qualcomm has until mid-October to chill out, or Exynos gets its comeback moment.

Nobody wants a phone that doubles as a hand warmer, and Samsung clearly agrees. As reported by Seoul Economic Daily, Samsung is unhappy with how Qualcomm’s next flagship chip handles heat, and that could shake up what powers the Galaxy S27 Ultra when it arrives early next year.

Qualcomm revealed the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme 6th generation last month, and Samsung has been putting it through its final round of testing. The results haven’t been great. During long, demanding tasks, the chip kept running hotter than Samsung’s limits allow, and its performance took a hit.
