Known for their sleek, lightweight designs, Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 Carbon series consists of some of its highest quality laptop offerings built using premium materials. Since 2012, Lenovo has released a new iteration of its X1 laptops annually.
This year, however, if a leaked product roadmap is to be believed, the Chinese computer company plans to expand its X1 PC family with two additional varieties, namely a 12-inch tablet and a 14-inch convertible. Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 tablet, along with an accompanying keyboard dock, is expected to launch in February while you can expect the ThinkPad X1 Yoga convertible two months earlier, on an unspecified date in December.
Both of these devices will join the also-expected 14-inch traditional notebook, set to release in February of next year. Of course, with CES rolling around come January, it wouldn’t be unusual to see all three of these devices being shown off in Las Vegas, despite the roadmap suggesting a 2015 release window for the Yoga.
To sum this all up into one bite-sized chunk, here’s everything the roadmap uncovered with regards to the X1 lineup:
- Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 14″ notebook in February, 2016
- Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet 12″ tablet (and keyboard dock) in February, 2016
- Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga 14″ convertible with a 360 degree hinge in December, 2015
Spotlighting a few optional accessories, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon will bolster support for both a wireless docking station and a wireless charging adapter.
The roadmap further discloses plans for future 13-inch laptop offerings, sporting both Windows 10 and Chrome OS. Those will presumably hit in March and April. The T, P, and X series notebooks should also acquire some new family members in addition to the business-centric Yoga S series announced recently.
