For the last few months, everyone has talked about the rumored iPhone Mini, eager to snatch up any detail and spread the good word. But in grand Apple tradition, the company remained – and still remains – tight-lipped, refusing to confirm anything until it’s good and ready.

However, DigiTimes reports that Pegatron, the company responsible for manufacturing Apple products, has landed several intriguing orders, including the plastic frames long rumored to be the basis of the affordable, or ‘Mini,’ iPhone. It also has many orders for components it will use to construct the next-generation iPad Mini.

This information was leaked by several Taiwan-based supply chain makers. These parts should start to make their way to Pegatron starting next month and, as a result, we could very well see the two products begin shipping sometime in August.

The budget-friendly iPhone Mini is expected to have a 3.5-inch Retina display, A5 processor just like the iPad Mini, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and may come in a slew of color options, much like the latest generation iPod Touch. The 9.7-inch iPad Mini 2 should be upgraded to a 2048 x 1536 pixel ‘Retina’ display, with a pixel density of 324ppi.

The report also touched on the next generation of iPhones and 9.7-inch iPads, saying we may have to wait until 2014 before we see either of these; both devices will be manufactured by Foxconn Electronics in China.
