HTC is seeing serious success in the Android smartphone market, and now the company is working to reassure customers who’ve recently bought their way into the HTC fold won’t be left behind by Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich release. According to HTC, most of HTC’s recent high-end Android phones will be in line for Android 4.0 upgrades, including the recently announced HTC Rezound.

HTC smartphones scheduled to get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in “early 2012” are:

  • HTC Sensation
  • HTC Sensation XL
  • HTC Sensation XE
  • HTC EVO 3D
  • HTC Amaze 4G
  • U.S. versions of the HTC Rezound and HTC EVO Design 4G

Google formally announced Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich a little over two weeks ago, featuring the Galaxy Nexus as the first handset to sport the new operating system. HTC didn’t have any immediate guidance about which of its handsets might support Android 4.0, or when they might receive and upgrade, leading to speculation HTC was struggling to find a way to support its own Sense interface. Offering specific details on Android 4.0 upgrades will undoubtedly ease some potential customers’ concerns about being left out of the Android 4.0 wave—although HTC doesn’t seem to be having much trouble selling phones lately.
