We meet again, possible contest winners. Over the last few weeks, we have been giving away games for various systems, and we have no intention of stopping. We’re mad with the giving spirit! MAD! Next week, we may give away all the furniture in the CEOs office! (Just kidding, please don’t fire us.)
Thus far we have given away Nintendo 3DS and PS3 games, so it’s time to look at the Xbox 360. And what game better defines the Xbox than Halo?
Last November, Microsoft celebrated the 10th anniversary of the release of Halo: Combat Evolved for the original Xbox by remastering the game and re-releasing it. The Anniversary Edition featured the original game with shiny new HD graphics (in 3D as well), online co-op play, and a whole bunch of new multiplayer options. It was once of the best games on the original Xbox, and the Anniversary Edition reminded us all why. You can read our full review here.
So here’s how you can enter for a chance to win: simply post as a comment below and let us knowwho your favorite developer/publisher is and why. Last week we asked what games you would like us to cover more, and this week we want to know who your favorite developer/publishers are for the same reason. Let us know what developers/publisher you want us to feature more often, and we will.
So that’s it. Post a comment below for a chance to win a copy of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition for the Xbox 360. Contest ends on Friday. This contest is not limited to the US, but while the game should be region free, we cannot guarantee it.
Good luck to all!

{Congratulations to our winner, “NYCBGALL021″! Keep checking back for more contests, we have plenty more to give away}
Did they redo the graphics? The polygon count was way low.
I love Bioware, but I hate EA… I’m so torn!
Final fanticy.
It’s hard to say, there have been plenty of great games and plenty of great companies that have either died, stopped producing great games or engaged in some other activities that are distasteful.
If we are allowed to choose dead companies I will whole-heartedly vote for Black Isle. Between creating Fallout and Planescape and publishing the Baldur’s Gate games I don’t think they had a single mis-step, though I never played their last couple games.
If we have to pick a current company it gets more difficult as distasteful business practices are becoming the norm with price gouging DLC and watered-down games are becoming common. If I have to pick a current developer I would probably go with Rockstar Games, more specifically Rockstar North if I’m not allowed to pick the entirety of Rockstar. The GTA games are consistently great and consistently improving, Red Dead Redemption (aka Grand Theft Horse) is pretty good as well. Additionally they don’t seem to have fallen into the DLC-gouging bandwagon yet (though I suspect that GTA 5 will change that).
I would start with id Software due to their initial development of the DOOM series and being one of the most successful companies developing the “3D” game experience at the time. Following up the original doom with the rest of the DOOM series has been nothing short of exceptional. I would also put out a shout to Eidos Interactive for their development of games like The Hitman series as well as Deus Ex.
It’s tough because there have been so many amazing games made over the years, but… Square Enix, mainly for the “Final Fantasy” series. Their storytelling and character/world development is always phenomenal. I love the exceptionally long and elaborate Eidolon/Summons cutscenes (bring them back), and the unique way in which they recycle characters and monsters while still making them feel fresh. You can invest hundreds of hours in these games without ever really feeling like you’re grinding, going through the motions, or drudging. Each game from the 1990 original to present has been a truly emotional and memorable experience. (Thank you!)
A special shout out to Nintendo for “The Legend of Zelda”. Best. Series. Ever. and the inspiration for my soon to be one and only tattoo.
I’d like to have this!
“I wondered why the baseball was getting bigger. Then it hit me.”
To be honest Halo has such a diverse community and its always a joy to be a part of it. That is why I thank Bungie and 343 Industries for their hard work. Thanks a million Ryan Fleming and staff for giving us a opportunity to win this copy of Halo Anniversary.
To be honest, I think I am going to go with Blizzard because of how they keep such old games like “Star Craft” and “World of War Craft” up to date and fresh with very well put together story plots and gameplay in the new versions. Also people would dub “Star Craft” as a nerd’s game, but games like these are attracting more and more Non-nerds to this genre of gaming(RTS). Blizzard is personally my favorite creator.
My grandkids, play this game ALL THE TIME..
I think I’m gonna go with Bungie. I haven’t played all of the Halo’s, only CE and Reach actually, but I have to admit, both of those games were insane. If I can still get this amount of entertainment 10 years after a game was released, and I have beaten it multiple times, then yeah, I’m sticking with Bungie. Can’t wait for Halo 4 though, looks awesome :D
Blizzard for the story telling and multi-genre games. They know how to torture its customers just right while providing us with awesome games like Lost Vikings (needs a new one so bad) Warcraft series Starcraft series (wish ghost was completed) and Diablo series. Now they just need to enter the FPS field and I’ll be happy.
I like “Rockstar Games” because they’ve never been afraid to push the envelope. And for their unique integration and expansion methods.
Gotta go with bioware, nintendo, and sega. Others have made a few games I like, but these people have given me a lifetime of amusement.
Definitely Bethesda and Bioware. Each game they make is amazing and pushes the technology forward.
