Why fry foods with oil when you can get the same results with hot air?

Gourmia GTA2800 WiFi Air Fryer - Multi Function Grill & Oven
If you’re nuts about fried food but put off by the less healthy aspects of deep fat frying, air frying may be the answer. Billed as the guilt-free fryer, the Gourmia GTA2800 WiFi-enabled Turbo Cook Center and Air Fryer fries food without oil, states Gourmia. It doesn’t only air fry, however, but can handle a seemingly inexhaustible list of cooking chores.

The Gourmia Air Fryer uses halogen heating with continuously circulating hot air, combining convection and radiant cooking to prepare food in a variety of cooking styles. According to Gourmia, air frying produces “perfectly crisp exteriors and moist tender interiors, with a reduced cooking time of up to 60 percent.” Fried food without oil — what’s not to like?

The Gourmia GTA2800 has iOS and Android apps to control the appliance from anywhere with an internet connection. With the app, you can select from any of twenty cooking modes and set the start time, cooking time, cooking temperature and speed, so you could just as easily start cooking from your office as from home.

Simply speaking, there are loads of cooking modes included with the Gourmia Cook Center and Air Fryer, some of which use the 11 cooking attachments included with the unit. Cooking modes include air fry, air sauté, stir fry, steam, roast, grill, broil, bake, rotisserie, and kebabs and specialized modes for pizza, French fries, and defrosting. There are also pre-programmed temperature, time, and fan settings for a wide range of foods from potato chips, pizza, beans, and puff pastry to steak, potatoes, apple pie, and more.

The accessories include a rotisserie spit and spit forks, frying tumble, grill basket, mesh frying basket and high/low frying rack, baking and grilling pans, and kebab rotisserie and skewers. Overall, with all the cooking modes, pre-programmed settings, and cooking accessories, it appears the Gourmia unit can do most anything except brew a cup of coffee — although maybe the company will take that as a challenge.

The Gourmia GTA2800 Wi-Fi-enabled Turbo Cook Center and Air Fryer lists for $280 but is available on Amazon for a holiday special $150 introductory price.

The Nanoleaf Skylight is a unique piece of hardware. Unlike most Nanoleaf products that are quick to install or easy to move and replace, the Skylight is designed as a permanent fixture in your home. Instead of simply plugging it into an electrical outlet, you'll need to hardwire it onto your ceiling – and once it's in place, you'll want it to stay there for years.

However, like all electronics, it's possible for your Nanoleaf Skylight to start acting up.
