ATT to bring NFL football to your phone

Motorola, the NFL and AT&T Wireless announced the kick-off of the 2004 Pro Bowl Balloting program featuring a new way for fans to vote, via AT&T Wireless text messaging. Through the“TEXTDown” promotion, fans can now place votes for their favorite players in the quarterback, running back, wide receiver, defensive end, outside linebacker and cornerback positions simply by textmessaging with their Motorola handset and AT&T Wireless service.

Using a Motorola or other text messaging capable handset with AT&T Wireless service, fans can text in their Pro Bowl votes by simply sending the player code indicated on the Pro Bowl Ballot via the text messaging capability of their handset. Fans can vote as many times as they like via text messaging or while visiting select AT&T Wireless stores across the country where paper ballots will be available. For a complete Pro Bowl ballot, fans can go to NFL.com.

“Motorola is bringing fans closer to the game by making it easier for them to choose who goes to the Pro Bowl via wireless text messaging,” said Jason Few, VP of Marketing for Motorola PCS North America. “NFL fans can already access sports scores, player stats and even customize their Motorola handset with their favorite team’s faceplate. The “TEXTdown” promotion offers a new way for people to engage with their favorite team and their favorite sport.”

“Our Pro Bowl “TEXTdown” initiative is another strong example of how AT&T Wireless continues to bring wireless entertainment into play to further engage and involve sports fans,” said Glenice Maclellan, vice president of messaging for AT&T Wireless Mobile Multimedia Services. “The power of text messaging is again demonstrated this season, as football fans can now easily ‘get in the game’ while cheering from the sidelines.”

Pro Bowl balloting via text messaging, in-store and online runs through November 30th.

All fans voting at AT&T Wireless stores or via their Text Messaging service will be automatically entered for a chance to win one of four trips for two to the Pro Bowl in Motorola’s “Hawaiian Vacation” sweepstakes. Each prize includes special access opportunities for the winners at the 2004 Pro Bowl as well as game tickets and travel accommodations. No purchase is necessary. Normal text messaging charges will apply.

Fans who visit a participating AT&T Wireless stores will also have the chance to benefit from rebates on the latest Motorola phones. Starting November 2, 2003 and running through January 3, 2004, consumers can receive a $25 instant rebate and a $75 mail-in rebate when they purchase the Motorola V60I (more information is available at your local AT&T Wireless store). Consumers can also check out the latest handsets from Motorola including the color-screen Motorola T721 and the model MPX200.

How to turn off call forwarding on iPhone and Android
A person holding the Apple iPhone 15 Plus, showing the camera.

If you’re mysteriously missing calls on your iPhone or Android smartphone, it may be because call forwarding is activated on your line. In that case, all your incoming calls could be going somewhere else.

Call forwarding shouldn’t typically be active unless you’ve specifically turned it on, but another person or app may have done so without your knowledge. And since call forwarding is a carrier feature, it could still be enabled on a line you inherited from someone else, even if you’ve swapped their SIM card into your phone or transferred it to a new account.
